Interesting read...

If you’re in the market for an Xbox 360 but really want to wait for the highest-quality machine, in theory you might want to wait until Falcon. Here’s the trick. Some of those Xbox 360s with the HDMI ports, especially the Xbox 360 Elites, are being made with 90-nanometer chips on Zephyr boards. Some of them will have 65-nm chips on Falcon boards. I really don’t know how you’re going to be able to tell the difference. If you’re buying an Xbox 360 without HDMI, then for sure you aren’t getting Falcon.

I just thought people wanted the CPU to be 65nm, didn't realise they were doing the graphics with the 65nm process too.

Now I'm officially waiting until the 65nm becomes standard (on both) to buy an elite

I want one of those Halo 3 ones, if they ever come with the 65nm Chips :D

It makes sense to bring them both in together if the technology is there to do so - then they make even more savings on production costs.

It's nice to see some positive news regarding the reliability issues of the 360.

Didn't think of that.

Will definately buy another 360 if they improve the reliability with this update :)

Anyway, I'm off.. MUCH LOVE.

Goodnight.

Well this is what I've been waiting for, I'll have to check it out end of september when I get paid

Is that actually true?

Yep.

The Zephyr/Falcon bit isnt exactly obvious, but its on the outside of the box (Well, thats what im lead to belive). All HDMI systems will have a HDMI sticker on the box.

But the whole point of the story after the link is that there will be HDMI units without the new revised chips!!!

Utterly confused now lol.

Im going to buy an Elite, but only one of the revised chipset models, so your saying it will say this on the box? Not just a HDMI sticker which could be either?

When this all came out about the HDMI premium 360s someone said if you look on the barcode (with the Serial no. on) it said Zepher, maybe on the falcon it will say Falcon.
