Thought id jump on the bandwagon and strart an owners thread for the more "cost effective" of us out there (i.e tight lol).

Although i think my results were pretty good baring in mind cost.

My Cards are Inno3d 256mb GDDR3, both with zalman vf900's on. I didnt bother with a comparison between stock cooler and zalman because they performed the same just lower temps.

First run single card stock:

Second run single card "quick OC"

nice results you are getting there, Judging by your SLI scores you are beating a lot of X1800XT's/ 7900GT's (stock) results which isn't bad at all.

How are they at gaming?!

Id love to tell you, not had a chance to try any games. GT Legends only game ive got to play at the mo and i have issues with it running which i think is down to the fact im on 64bit windows as apossed to anything else.

Id love to see what everyone else is doing with thier 7300gts DDR2 or DDR3 :D My next step is to modify the bios for more volts, when you over clock these badboys they slow down instead of getting artifacts and what not, i could be wrong but i reckon they want more power shoved up thier rear ends :D

How would a single 7300 gt with ddr3 ram compare to a 6800NU?

Since I think my 6800 NU is dead but haven't got a pc to test it on.

yea same happens on my 7600gt i can clock it above 620mhz but after a few seconds in ati tool it just freezes the system for a bout a minute then the clocks return back to stock. i think the gpu needs more voltage since i too don;t get any artifacts.

My new rig with the zalman cooled 7300gt will be here Weds at the latest.

I will own a decent card, w00t. goodbye 5500fx.

I think the 7300gt is just a 7600gt with less pipes etc so that figures

That seems to have been the tactic of almost all the latest nvida cards. They limit the performance by limiting the volts. The 7900gts are the same, doesn't matter how cool you keep them without an extra 0.15-0.35 volts they just won't hit more than 530-580 on the core.

Brought the OcUK GeForce 7300 GT, at stock it was 500 core 500 (1000) mem.
Using cool bits to find the optimal frequency it only comes to 551 core and 613 mem, which is slower then the inno3d stock mem was :(.

Also when I try increasing the core or mem by 1 it just fails the test.

Looks like either I got a really bad overclocker or the value ones are just rubbish.

Btw the box it game in was labeled Palit 7300 gt Sonic DDR3.

A bit disappointed

Mate, my inno3d jobs wouldnt OC atall when i first set them up and was a bit like you. God knows what changed which allowed them to OC. Just keep at it.

Might be a big ask but do you know who the mem chips are made by? My inno3d ones are infineon and arnt spose to clock as =well as other like samsung, but i thought 824(1648) wasnt too bad.

The mem chips have Infineon on them,

Overclocking using cool bits and rivatuner is a bit strange as after I get the failed test message, I lower the core and mem to stock. When I test it again it fails

How did you mange to overclock your's in the end?

Also what drivers are you using?

In that case you should be able to achieve same as me, 91.31 forceware (change to classic control panel ;) ) and just use coolbits :)

hmm i'm using 91.36 ones I might try those ones and see if they are any better.

Also how do get the classic control panel on?
