Not sure if it's old news or what, but I spied this on another forum and thought I'd let you all know. Sorry locutus12, you still have to mess with voltages, but you don't have to mess around with the 2D/3D processes anymore. ;)

Currently you can only get it by using the update function from within ATI Tray Tools, but someone has kindly posted a mirror for you to get it directly.

Addition: I don't think that the artifact scanner or bench function can be trusted, they just crashed me when trying XT-X clocks but 3D Mark 05/06 work fine. Ah well, at least I don't have to run ATI Tool alongside ATI Tray Tools anymore. :D

LOL! And I've just got my X1900GT running OC'd with Omega 6.7's (No ATT) and RivaTuner :D

Will have to investigate this...

Does this have an 'auto' overclock feature like CCC overdrive ? if so i may install it :)

For owners of X1xxx cards. Do not select OLD I2C Method ininstallation procedure or you will not be able to apply memory voltage. This will be fixed and I will release bug fix version in next few days.

:D :D :D

Whats the best drivers to use while overclocking ones card by using ati tray tools?
Currently using x1800xt 256mb with cat 6.8 and ccc - which doesnt overclock at all really.

6.9 Beta's are really nice :D

They have Overdrive 3 for people who want basic OCing. :)

Aye!

Anyone get on the Guru 3D forums? As I cant!!! :(

I want to know if:

1. Memory timings altered.
2. The two memory voltages in ATi Tool (two middle ones) are controlled by the single memory V control or if he will add the 2nd one at a later date.
3. If he will add the 4th (bottom) voltage in ATi Tool.

Omega's haven't been updated yet, but I'd strongly recommend downloading them and downloading the new ATi Tray Tools.

Im currently testing now and at 1.4/2.080V im at 700/850 :D Under 60C load.

CR.

As for one, I don't think so. As it is the ATi driver that is responsible for the timings change. Yet ATT disables the service so it shouldn't be using the driver to clock the memory.

Would this run on Vista 32bit to allow overclocking on my X1900XT do you think?

It found the card straight off but theres nothing like a bit of overclocking any how!!! :D

What version of ATI Tray tools are you using? The latest version? Are you also using the latest version of the Omega's the 6.7's?

How are you testing for artifacts? I know that the normal artifact testing tool isnt reliable with the x1800xt series.

Right, I seem to have a problem with having the core over 690mhz.

650/775 @ 1.35/2.050 is fine for 5 passes of 3D Mark 2005.
688/801 @ 1.40/2.080 is fine for 5 passes of 3D Mark 2005. (I will try with lower voltages).

However 705 @ 1.40/1.425 and maybe 1.45V (im testing now at 1.45V) will lock :(

EDIT: Maybe not, 708/801 @ 1.45/2.080 just did 5 passes of 2005. Im trying for more. Bit dodgy it needs so much more core to do such a tiny increase :/

So there might be a 690mhz lock atm for core. Mem is fine, that works ok but I still think its needs the two other voltages that ATI Tool has.

Im using Omega 6.7s and the latest ATT.

Once the problems have been ironed out It will be better than ATi Tool as it can set profiles for everything. Eg. EVE Online doesn't need full 3D so I have a 500/600 profile for it with low voltages and low fan speeds.

BF2 has a "Med 3D" for 688/801 and MS FS 2004 has "High 3D" which will be 720/850+ once I've worked out whats going on.

In due course I will be making a guide, I gotta work it out myself first :p

And could someone please tell me if Guru3D is up? Cos ill use a dam proxy if it is :/

Cheers Conc :)

Hi concorde, I wouldnt bother overclocking your card anymore, I was doing exactly what you were doing when I got my x1800xt and these are the errors I found.

1, The card would normally crash when you go above 690 - even though you know the card is stable and you can handle it.

2, The card would crash if you watch a video with a core speed of over 690.

3, Overclocking by CCC to 690 and by other methods (ati tray tools, ati tool) is slower, so CCC doesnt overclock as much as it says.

4, Basically when you play a 3d game, change the clocks to 3d then play a game, when you quit go back to 2d clocks otherwise videos etc in your windows is unstable.

So I doubt your going to get over a 690 core even though the card cant handle it, something is seriously wrong with the drivers or whatever in these cards.

A tip to get your memory past 900 - put the memory at 1.975, somehow I got far higher clocks on my memory with a lower voltage, and that core I doubt is stable, play a game for a bit it'll crash.
