I've just used Casper to clone my Windows 7 drive to a new drive - a complete, identical clone. However, when I try to boot from the new drive it fails to do so stating that a device needed to boot is not accessible.

In disk management my old C drive is labelled as "Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition)". My Windows XP installation, on a different drive, is the "System, Active, Primary Partition".

My new drive is labelled "Healthy (Active, Primary Partition)".

Does anyone know what I need to do to allow me to change the old Windows 7 drive for the new identical Windows 7 drive and successfully boot?

Many thanks

Michael.

Tried running startup repair from the Windows 7 disc? (only have your new drive plugged in at this point)

I did exactly the same as you yesterday.

All you have to do is run repair from the windows 7 disc and in 5 seconds the problem is fixed :)
