A lot of the people i know are classing themselves as freeman and are refusing to live by the standard way of life. Ironically its getting them into a lot of trouble.

Now i questioned one of them on "what" this concept is and he basically posted this as there "bible"

Its a very interesting concept, but i have no idea what to think about it.

It's a flawed concept stemming from an inaccurate and incomplete understanding of the law and our legal system.

However if "Freemen" really don't want to accept any of the rules that govern the UK then I can only suggest they find somewhere else to live, you do not get to elect which laws apply to you and the claims about requiring consent to be subject to the laws is a complete non-starter. If you commit a crime then claiming that the police and the courts have no jurisdiction over you holds about the same weight as Slobodan Milošević claiming not to recognise the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia - the claim is all well and good but it'll be ignored as it has no legal weight. However it appears that most "Freemen" want most of the benefits of living in our society but don't want the accompanying responsibilities that come with this, including the laws and taxation which they happen to disagree with.

Most of these "freeman" arguments are based around the principle that everything must be a certain way.

That for something to be law, it must be written in such a place, in such a way etc..

But it doesn't. We don't have a written constitution. We never have, and we've managed to maintain law and order without one for hundreds , neigh thousands of years.

How exactly did civilisation manage without laws pre magna carta ? well they just made it up as they went along of course. And the system we have now, is a hybrid of these two types of system.

He's deluded, that's what.
This guy believes in the tooth fairy - so sure, why not give him the keys to the nukes?

He also says in the same quote

But it really doesn't bother me, it's not the most important issue for me, to make the difference in my life, to understand the exact origin...you know, I just don't think we're at the point where anybody has absolute proof on either side.

So he believes in God, his policies seem fair enough.

So he believes in God, I don't, but it's not that major. His policies seem fair enough.
The (if he became president) most powerful man in the world, the commander of the world's largest military, would be getting his 'answers' from (or confirmed by) an imaginary friend who he thinks has a grand plan, is an interventionist and can see all the past and into the future.

I know that is hard to avoid in increasingly-nutty America (bar Christian-just-to-be-elected people, like Obama), but it should be an immediate switch off for any sensible person.

Tell us more about the trouble these idiots are getting themselves in to. I could do with a laugh this morning.

Also, Ron Paul LOL.

Aren't most American presidents at least pandering to the religious right in America, if not a part of it.

You do seem to be blowing this out of all proportion like he's the first person ever to run for president with a lean towards bible belt America...
