well hello there, I have not long finished modding my guitar again (adding more LEDs) and thought I'd share the pics! Looks really good at night but it's midday so no dark pics yet!

I backlit the Floyd Rose and drilled a hole to add a proper switch (you can see it beside the knobs)... enjoy! :)

You butchered bridge pickup? It has the clearest and beefiest sound dude?

AWESOME!!!! I am soo doing that on my other guitar... didn't think of having them point to the body!!

Also if I'm brave enough I might try the Fretboard LEDs although that is some really tricky stuff to do!

I dunno if that question was at me but not - the only pickup I sacrificed for my mod was the single coil... i didn't use it much...

I used the hollow single coil cover to put the pup LEDs in... the other 2 pups work as normal...

Aye the LEDs are just around the sides of the cavity aren't they?

If you read the thread I posted then there's a 'guide' (ish) how to take off your fretboard and fit the LEDs, it sounds like a bit of a hairy job, might be a better idea to test it on a cheapo beater guitar if you can find one for £10 (or less :D).

The guy on that forum builds the odd custom guitar and does a lot of swirl painjobs, he's swirled it grey/white/blue now which I think actually looks a bit pants compared to the crisp white but still a cool looking guitar.

Get a laser put in the headstock next :D

There's an awesome tutorial on Project Guitar for necks but I don't have any of the tools needed for the job (clamps, etc...)

You could get them pretty cheap from any hobbyist shop probably, do you have any friends' dads with some? lol

btw: how's the intonation on your guitar? The saddles look to be set up quite strange in a diagonal slope which doesn't really look like a healthy shape.

lol well I bought this guitar a while ago and it came set up like that from Japan (its a prestige so made in japan..).. the intonation was perfect! I did a set up about 6 months ago and double checked it again... still perfect!

It does look quite strange I know but somehow it's right lol!

I'll give it a try one day... I think next summer I will be building an Ibanez style guitar so I will probably do it then!

Awesome. I have an old Hamer that I am doing up at the moment, it's pretty much just a POS I got from Oxfam for twenty quid. I stripped it all down but never bothered putting it back together again!

I might get back on it now after seeing this... :D
