I figured I would throw my own mini review since this is clearly the best case ive owned while its not perfect its close!

Got my delivery yesterday, box was well packed could have been better they had polly around both sides but not on the left or right side. It was light not too heavy thx to the allu Case.

Be aware this case is very Tall. Make sure you have enough desk space or enough height under the desk/table.

The Front and Sides are all brushed Allu and look stunning:

Installation went very smooth, lian li left a white box on the inside and it was packed with lots of screws... more screws then required. Instructions were clear and I advise reading them especially the part with the Hdd rubber mounts!

They have screw types for everything so use the right ones.

I spent an hour fiddling around with the rubber gromments and found it wasnt going on so easy on the harddrives, it certainly helps when you use the right screws!

These are special hdd mounting screws for the rubber mounts, but they have 3 different hdd type screws so be aware!

Installing the mainboard and parts were quick and pain free, theres tons of space inside to work with so no worrys there.

The front panel pops off very easy, loved that touch. Only negatives id consider is there wasnt any cable managment system in place but frankly its not needed and lian li left space at the back of the system so the cables can be routed behind leaving it much cleaner from the front

The cooling for the hdds is extreme even with 4x120mm fans my samsung 500giggers are @ 30c which is as good as the active hdd cooling my Antec 900 had.

The inside also recieves good cooling too, my X38 Asus board while there hotter then most is showing 35-40c. My Q6600 is 35c idle with my thermalright extreme and noctuna 120mm fans.

In total theres 2 120mm fans on the back one for exhaust and theres one on the top where you can either mount 3hdds or 1 p/s, my p/s is however at the bottom. And of course the 4x120mm fans on the front, with good ventillation on the front for those fans also.

Overall very pleased its a keeper, a case that can last a lifetime, only things id change is perhaps the side panels there tad thin id perhaps consider adding sound proof materials on the sides but its not required. The Hdds are great with the rubber grommets cant hear them as much and are quiet.

Its a tad pricey @ £150 but obviously if you strive for perfection and want good cpu/vga/hdd cooling this is the one for you.

Overall 4/5 rating

Great review HighlandeR! :)

Glad you like the case!

I know what you mean about the side panels as compared to my PC-101 they are a lot thinner.

gt

Yeah tad thin, but nothing I aint seen there similar and thin to the eclipse 62 side panels. Its not a major thing but a little more thicker woulda been nice guess its just us being picky!

I may consider the akasa paxmate for the side panels but dont think they will reduce much noise, its odd cos ive never had a case with 8 120mm fans running yet its still quiet, its the same noise as my Akasa 62 and Antec 900 :)

Imagine what its like with undervolted Sharkoon 2000s....... almost silent!

my Raptor is almost the loudest thing in there!

Yeah noticed after a night it is a tad louder then my previous setups I have 2 noctuna 120mm fans and there 7volt modded and unhearable and great, but the 4 sharkoons I got are a tad more noiser ;)

Am gonna get some 7 or 5 volt adaptors to silence them even more. Thx to the hardware on my GTX and Q6600 temps arent that high to proove an issue my 8800GTX idles @ 55-60c which is good cos before it was 65-70c, and my Q6600 still around 45-50c on all cores @ idle.

Not the best temps but silence is more appreciated when you sleep 1 meter away from the box :)

I just read gt junkies review earlier today which was great and i must admit i went from interested to wanting to make this my next case.

That really is a sweet looking case. Nice reviews guys.

I just wish I could justify buying one... It's not so much the price, but the size of the flipping thing. But a thing of beauty none the less :)

Don't quote me but I don't think the lady that deals with Lian Li at the importers is bringing the optional top in, I know when I was their they where not planning on bringing the window in as theirs loads of 1000 and 2000 series windows sat on shelves.
