Just got a new Asus P8P67 Pro (Rev3) yesterday and am having nothing but problems with it. Initially the whole thing seemed DOA, but I reseated my processor and ram and got the motherboard to boot.

The bios reports my Corsair Dominator 1600(C9) ram at 1333mhz, so I have had to clock it up to the correct speed, but it seems stable. I have a Barracuda XT 2TB 6/GB SATA drive and I've tried connecting it to both the Intel and Marvel SATA connectors. In either port a fresh install of Windows 7 repeatedly grinds to a halt while it waits several minutes for a burst of disk IO. Installing the new drivers from the ASUS website took two hours and does not seem to have improved performance.

This sounds a lot like the problems with the original motherboard revision, but the box is labelled as an Revision 3 motherboard and the board has the latests bios already installed. Any advice would be appreciated - is this an RMA or is there some software fix?

What are the rest of your system specs?

Not really, very few people actually have seen the issuse. The problem is as soon as somebody had any kind of disk or io error they would be OMG SATA B2 bug!!!

Follow-up

Just in case anyone else experiences this problem:

This was a completely fresh windows 7 install on a brand new 6gb/s sata drive.

In the end I moved the HDD and DVD drives onto SATA ports 1 and 5 respectively and disabled the various RAID controllers and now it is working fine (as long as I never want to buy a new hard drive again).
