Hi,

I have no sound coming from the rear speakers on my set up.

Realtek HD Audio says they are connected and working but there is no sound when testing the speakers through the driver software or a DTS or AC3 test file.

I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and tried the default MS drivers.

No joy...

Any ideas? I think it may be affecting the DVD encoding I'm doing at the moment.

By the way, the board has not been swapped out yet for the SATA issue fix.

Any ideas?

Hi Simpic, the fact that the board is a pre-B3 revision should not affect the sound.

How are you connecting the speakers? Via optical or in-line?

If inline you should be connected the 3.5mm jack to the green port on the rear and any microphone (desktop or headset) to the pink jack.

Hi,

The speakers are connected via 3.5mm jacks on the motherboard at the rear of the PC.

The green port is connected to the front speakers which are fine.

The black port is connected to the rear speakers and there is no sound.

I have swapped them around and the same happens so it is not the speakers but the sound signal being transmitted to the ports.

Regards,

Simpic
