Having got fed up with waiting for the Silverstone TJ07 Black to be re-stocked in the UK (meant to be 3-5 days 4 weeks ago and not now expected until 6 April) I have been looking at other cases. The Lian Li PC- S80 is my next choice. Any one any news on when they can be expected in the UK?

No announced release date yet, but wont be too soon, sometime next month hopefully as I am also waiting on one of these!

If your heart is set on the TJ07, then wait for it.

whats wrong with steel/alu? steel is a lot stronger and the cases are better built as a result. My lc-03 is built like a brick.

Probably the fact he can't anodize it

Sorry for any ignorance on my part, but I take it this means that only Alu can be anodised and not steel (only asking as I don't know)
Yes, that is correct.

The only thing I hate about the Silverstones is the steel/aluminium combination otherwise they are pretty damn fine.

The TJ07 is all aluminium I think you will find. ;)

You can't really make a removeable motherboard tray out of alu, it would be too flimsy, same with the mounting plates.

I really don't see the problem with a bit of steel when the parts that count (visible bits) are all lovely alu.

Without reading the links, all the connecting pieces are aswell, the alu is just covering plates.

The whole case is Aluminium apart from the mobo tray and the hd mounts.

The mobo tray is steel to give added strengh same goes for the hd mounts. Good design if you ask me.

Aluminium could do just as good a job really, the case is not expossed to the stress that would cause the differences to be made apparent under normal use.

And please do not ask me to dig out my GCSE chemistry text book :p

Given that Silverstone actually design, test and make a range of cases and we don’t, i think its fair to say they are better equipped to make the choice whether the mobo tray is going to be made from alu or steel.

Its made from steel for a reason ;)

To increase profit margins and to stop them going the way of ATC Tek

;)

There profit margins would be even better if they could somehow found a way to get them instock at UK retailers...

I been trying to get a black one of these for weeks..And i have only found silver ones instock at places that sell these silverstone cases...

Haha, im now going to talk out of my backside :p

"Silverstone are doing it to artificially inflate prices"

Now the reason I think is the proper one; that the case is a bigger success than they ever hoped.
