wanted to raise this question since im using a LCD TV with an agp 7600gs and was wanting an upgrade for it to a x1950pro ago.

question i have is this:

do the catalyst drivers support advanced timing like the nvidia drivers do to get a precise display timing setup to work?

e.g with nvidia 7600gs i currently use:

those custom settings provide a perfect picture alignment with no banding on my screen.

does ati have something similar on those lines? or does a 3rd party tool need to be used?

here is a CCC screenshot of what i can see in ati drivers but there is nothing solid there.

tomnbk is you pass through this thread could you ask the ati devs if this sort of custom display timing is possible?

Cant check right now, but i dont think the cat drivers have this ability (i could be wrong as i havent used them in a while). Powerstrip should do it for you though.

yes powerstrip does work but its invonvenient to buy that bit of software too to run the card properly. i used to run powerstrip with the 9800pro then i went to the 7600gs and it works brilliant.

if someone could check this out for it would be great, can order a agp x1950pro tonight then.

x1950pro should be good enough to run most games at 1360x768 i assume.

did anyone manage to find out about this then? would really be helpfull so i can order x1950pro without worrying about getting the display image to look correct.

hey tom did you manage to find out anything for us? my x1950pro agp is on order, would be good for things to go real smoothly when i swap cards with the 7600gs. :)

yea powerstrip will do the job since i used it with the 9800pro i had before the 7600gs to get the right timings with the rez.
guess i can wait for the x1950pro to arrive and try it out and have a fiddle, if it doesn;t work guess i will have to buy powerstrip too.
just hate running additional apps in the background and would have prefered a native solution.
