I'm hoping to upgrade my GPU in about a months time but I am just wondering whether or not my CPU will be a bottleneck on the newer cards?

Running a pretty highly clocked gtx 670 here, (1320mhz core clock, 7586mhz mem clock) on an i7 920 @4.0ghz, no problems with bottlnecking.

The 1st gen Intels have quite a lot of power, so i would agree with setter.

I dont have one myself but a close friend of mine runs a i7-920 (stock) with two 670's (stock) with no bottle neck when one card is running though im sure it has some bottle beck with two cards but most CPU's would, im guessing.

For games I never go above 4.0ghz on any of my CPUs at that speed I get good minimum fps and if there is a lot of gpu muscle available I max the setting out in the games.

At stock settings it would bottleneck two card. But with overclock I think you should be OK
