Time for some culture, was just talking to some work mates and surprised by the number of people who say they don't like classical music.

It's beyond my comprehension how anyone could dislike such beautiful music. For me my favourite piece has to be:

Pachelbel's canon in D Major

Just beautiful, I'd love to hear this played by a live orchestra one day. Brings a tear to my eye :o

edit: how do these youtube tags work? :(

Not really into classical, but i do like the 4 seasons by vivaldi i think

You're into music from the Baroque period then ;)

I have too many that I like to individually name, recently been listening to
Saint-Saëns and some of his great symphonies. Possibly one of his most famous, the organ symphony - the last movement is associated with the film Babe.

Very hard to pick favourites.

I like the 3rd movement in Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata for epicness:

and Albinoni's Adagio in G minor for emotionalness:

Some of my favourite classical pieces.

Choral version of Barbers Adagio (Absolutely awesome)

Mozart - Piano concerto

Mozart - Violin concerto

Andres Segovia (Master of the classical guitar) - Asturias

Bach - Air (On a G string)

Narciso Yepes - Concierto de aranjuez

Mahler's 9th symphony
Beethoven's late string quartet's Op.132 + Op.135 + Op.127 + Op.131
tomas luis de victoria
wagner's parsifal
the guitar works of augustin barrios mangore
bach's violin partitas
much puccini

Too many to mention or even remember!

Have a listen to a snippet of Ashkenazy playing Rachmaninov Concerto No.3 Allegro:

Pachelbel - Canon
Orff - O Fortuna from Carmina Burana
Rossini - 'William Tell' overture
Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake
Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries

They're all fairly well known but I like 'em :)

just type this:

{youtube} code {/youtube}

replace the { and } with [ and ].

in the case of your vivaldi the code is 7GXPDVSWY
