Look how the GTX and GX2's pull ahead with and without AA at high res, incredible.

Err he does have two of them you know? :p

You expected your £170 card to beat two £300 cards in SLI?????

I have always said if you have a GTX and SLI mobo and the fact you can pick up a 2nd hand GTX for £80 then two in SLI will rock.

I know, but look at the 1280x1024 all high, the 4870 is beating some SLi setups there and not been beaten by 20+fps so I said look how they pull away at high res. Surely you must have seen it from looking at the benchmark?

An 8800GTX is certainly not a £300 card anymore!

Nobody finds it odd that the GTX is QUICKER with AA on than off (or it'd be above the 4870 on the no-AA list)...(sniff, sniff, I smell bovine waste, surely? broken AA?)

The GTX is slower with AA on and I guess it could be faster with AA on than the 4870 due to its bigger 384bit bus.

Hellfire, I dont think 4xAA is working on your benchmark, infact it is'nt as its the exact same framerate for 1680x1050 high no AA.

Was going to say I'm having a ******* time trying to match that but so far aint getting over 32.

Dont know if its drivers, but in Windows XP 32 I seem to be getting framerate drops down to 18fps in the crymark bench aswell, fine in Vista but not XP.

sorted.

Hellfires 4AA test shows no AA on the pic.

The 4870 will smoke the GTX with or without AA, except maybe crysis which hates my ATI cards.

Maybe crysis is underperforming with ATi cards atm? If so thats great.

I never seen the pics, stupid AOL causing em not to load

On the bright side I got my 1680x1050 High from 42 to 48 now, 1 FPS faster than the result I got with my 8800GT at 1280x1024 all high :)

Here's my 4xAA contribution;

I do think there is a slight issue; what about adaptive AA? It's turned on for me, but I know that if I turn it off the FPS will be higher. You should point out if Adaptive AA/transparent AA should be used or not.

Nothing in CCC should be turned on, all should be turned off...

Did you have AAA on for that too?

Nice, what did you tweak to get that ?

Just messed around with memory, changed timings from 4-4-4-12 to 4-4-4-10 not like that will make any difference and basically exited all the crap.

If only I never had abnormal FPS drops in XP my 1680x1050 4xAA benchmark might be higher in XP, at the moment its 5fps lower in XP due to these drops

I turned off AAA for the second non-AA run. I just tried the 4xAA run again without AAA it doesn't seem to make any difference.

AAA proberbly does not work in Crysis, well AA in the CCC hardly works in anything

Talk about driver support NV certainly has better drivers unless these hotfix ones for the 4870 are just crappy and buggy but I remember all this with nothing working with CCC AA before with the 2900.

Overall, **** Drivers **** Coolers KICKASS Card.
