Hi, I was given an old Pace TV card, and I dont know what channel scanning software I need. I got the drivers installed OK as its a common chipset (Conexant BT878KH if my memory is correct). The only problem is I dont know what software to use for watching TV through it. Does anyone know of any (preferably free as well)?

Thanks, George.

Dscaler is always one to checkout. Fairly compatible and from what I've seen it works fairly well with most things as long as it doesnt have a hissy fit with your particular card.

Hi, thanks for the reply, DScaler is much much easier to use than the other f ones I tried. That said I now have a new problem, the channels are all there and playing, but theres no sound at all. Ive monkeyed about with all the sound menus I could find but nothings come of it. Is there something obvious Ive missed or could it just be that the card is faulty?

do you have to have it <tv card> linked to your sound card's line in? Via a cable going from a sound output on your card to the line in on your sound card/inputs? Often they require that, as they cant generate the sound like a sound card, and thus just have a passthrough, and by plugging the lineout into your line in, you can listen to the sound via your usual sound setup.

Ive got the asus TV7131/FM tuner, i tryed using dscaler and had nothing but problems with the sound.

So ive started using Cyberlink Power Cinema 4 and it works great.

And as for the lead from tv card to sound card, mines got the lead, but ive never had to use it, works fine without it

EDIT**

Ive just reread the title.... says "FREE" sorry but the above mentioned software isnt free

sorry
