Hi,

I bought myself a graphics card just before christmas for my existing PC and lo and behold I got a new PC for christmas off my girlfriend. I arranged to return the unwanted graphics card (totally unopened) under DSR and all was going ok.

HD6950 was £166.66
Tax £35.13
Postage £9.00
Total = £210.79

I paid to have the item sent back recorded delivery and insured. Think it cost me about £8.

Today I received an email stating that I am going to be refunded £199.99. Now it doesn't take a genius to work out that this doesn't even cover the cost of the item + tax and certainly doesn't cover the initial postage. I have used OCUK for many years and always been happy. Is this normal? :confused:

Thx for help and really sorry if this is in the wrong section but i didnt know where else to post.

Your best bet is to ask in the customer section.

I assume the pricing was what was in your original invoice.

I guess if they refunded you the value of the card, less the postage that would be great. Afterall it was not their fault that Santa got you a new card.

I think your £1.80 down on the deal, but if you were to pick up the phone and have a natter I am sure they will talk you through it and in my experience they are extremely helpful.

Perhaps the value of the card fluctuated a little. Good luck

I just read their DSR information on the website and it clearly states that return postage is the customer responsibility but they will refund the initial charge onto the card which presumably includes the initial postage too. I will call them tomorrow

I expect there was tax on initial postage too
E.G.
Card £166.66 + 20 % = 199.99
Postage £9 + 20% = 10.80
Total = 210.79

As you havent had initial postage refunded, you didnt get the tax on postage either

OCUK charge VAT on postage as well mind, hence it totalling to just over £200, but theyre only refunding you £199.99 (cost of card)

When ever Ive returned under the DSR, Ive never had initial postage refunded.

The consumer is entitled to a full refund and, unless listed in the terms and conditions of the seller, the cost of returning the goods.

OC T&C 7.3 lists that the consumer must pay for the return, so in this case the OP is only entitles to a full refund of the cost of the card and original delivery costs.

Section 3.48

Not saying I agree with it but that's the law.

Indeed, OcUK only pays for the postage if it's a confirmed faulty component shipped back under RMA. It's kind of agreeable that you have to pay to ship it back if it's just a case of not wanting it. But, you should be entitled to all the money that you paid for the actual card + postage.

Thanks for the reply guys you confirmed what I already thought. I will speak to them tomorrow and hope they sort it out

All sorted now. The 210.79 has all been refunded (item + original packaging). Was an honest mistake I think.

Superb, OC has exceeded my expectations in the past when ordering/returning items and they come highly recommended. ;)
