Father beats man to death for molesting child; probably won't be arrested

or father murdered someone (for a reason other than seeing him £$%^ his daughter) then $%^&%$ his daughter to make up a story as a get out of jail free card...
 
Don't ever open the daily fail I presume that this was after the guy was found guilty by a court of law?

Sounds about right.
Shame that you can't touch someone in the this country for doing bad without getting owned by the law. Even if they smash in your door, rob you and rape your wife. Punch them in the face and you'll probably go down.

Whilst i generally agree with that statement. Justice is open for opinion, which can be a terrible idea.

It could have been either of those cases, except for the fact that there's zero evidence to point towards either of those scenarios.

The fair and just person inside me says that every man should stand trial and be judged accordingly for their actions (referring to both men), it shouldn't be taken into your own hands.

But both families have been damaged forever, maybe just letting things be in this case is the right thing to do? But that relies on taking the fathers story as the truth.

Totally not true find me one case where reasonable force has been used in self defence and someone has been sent down, it's all over hyped nonsense or people who think reasonable force is shooting a man in the back or getting a gang of mates to beat him to death.

Totally agree, the correct thing to do in this and all similar cases is to arrest the individual and carry out a proper investigation just taking someones word for it is ridiculous.
 
Headline is misleading, he hit him over the head a few times and he died - it happens - the force used was reasonable and there were plenty of witnesses.

I doubt the result would be much different in the UK.

Good to see that the law enforcement authorities in some parts of the world are still allowed to use a little discretion.

The police don't decide, he's not a flight risk but it's up to judge and jury to decide what he is guilty of.

Guilty of self-defence most likely, which is no guilt at all.

He hit somebody who was assaulting his daughter, it doesn't sound like it was a savage prolonged or pre-meditated beating so it's just a tragic outcome.

99 times out of 100 the guy would have a sore jaw and would be carted off by the police, this time he died. People have died before from a single punch so it's perfectly believable (again, given all the witnesses it's a bit of a slam dunk).

Going off the headline and OP - would people prefer it if he had heard his daughter had been assaulted, gathered a mob, found the guy and beat him to death with some torture thrown in for good measure? Of course in some parts of the world he'd not be arrested for that either but Texas isn't one of them.

Tis slightly worrying though - we're talking about Texas here and the dead guy is a Mexican...

Father: 'Damn spic was near my daughter, didn't mean to kill him like...'

Sheriff ' That's OK son, ya'll not get in trouble for killin' no wet back round these parts...'

I think you'd have a greater chance of getting charged for shooting a black guy in Florida than beating a Mexican in Texas.
