OK, following on from "Top 5 Bits of Software", here's:

TOP FIREFOX EXTENSIONS

Which FF extensions / add-ons can't you live without? List as long or short as you like, but again, about 5 would probably be best!
 
Mine (to be added to later, when I remember what I've got on my other computer):

Adblock Plus
Speed Dial
Tab Mix Plus
 
Split Browser is amazing. Means I can watch youtube/iplayer in one half and browse in the other. An absolute godsend:

AdBlock Plus as well, obviously.
 
This what I have installed

Adblock plus - blocks adds
British English Dictionary - dictionary for real English
smile.gif

Cooliris (formerly piclens) - that 3d slidy image gallery thing
Download Helper - helps download files from places like youtube.
DownThemAll - bulk downloader, works via keywords etc - very good

Fast Dial - a better version of the opera panels, more than just 9 links
FIrefox Showcase - think mac expose for firefox
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer - syncs with an online server
Google Preview - quick thumbs in google
IETab - uses ie to render the page from within firefox
Linkification - converts non hyperlinked links to links
PDF Download - downloads pdf's instead of direct open
QuickPageZoom - little icons for page zooming
Tab Mix Plus - enhanced tabs
Tab Scope - little images of whats on each tab, bit like the vista pop up images on the taskbar
Tweak Network - tweaks network settings
febe - backup everything
imagezoom - allows you to zoom images independently of page etc (why firefox doesn't have something like ie7 scale/zoom images is beyond me)

Just added that split browser one, looks like it could be useful :)
 
Some other cool ones -

Download statusbar.

Control Tab! Awesome, means your can tab between most recently used tabs rather than all of them.

I can and will go on, but when I get home as my FF browser at work has little addons
 
My favourites are;
Speed dial - Favourite sites in new tab, makes it really easy to go where to want to go in a new tab.

Personal Menu - Hides "File, Edit, View" etc so it takes up less vertical space.

Foxmarks - Synchronise bookmarks over all firefoxes, works very well.

Cooliris - For sites that support it (including google) it brings up a 3d wall of the images you're looking at (good for galleries).

Download statusbar - Downloads show at the bottom instead of a new window.

I have loads more, i think those are the best though.
 
I've got FF installed on my laptop and tried adblock - I can't believe how many ads and banners still make it through. Thats because I'm used to using the mighty admuncher on my desktop pc......

NoScript is ten times better for adblocking, though I still use Adblock Plus as the EasyList is updated so regularly.
