Hi, for the past few years i have always used Norton Internet Security, but ive looked through yours forums on the various "Best antivirus + firewall" threads and its name dosent seem to appear. So basically I am looking to buy a different product.

I want it to be an antivirus and firewall in one, and the main thing it has to be is a low resource program, and secondly effective at what it does.

Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, This name seems to crop up a lot, i have just loooked on amazon and its £45, would you reccommend this as one of the best?? if yes is it worth this amount of money compared to its rivals??

Cheers.

Norton isnt often brought up as it slows down your PC and its protection isnt all that good.

NOD32 Antivirus + WinXP SP2 firewall is enough for most people or you could use the free Sygate personal firewall instead. Kaspersky is good but NOD32 is the most popular one here.

Ok if a good firewall is not that important then i may just go for a good virus scanner and use the Nvidia firewall that comes with the ASUS A8N Sli mobo. Where can i get this NOD32 from? just done a search and couldnt find an official site

Nah. NOD32 is naff. Honestly, stay away from it. Sure it's light, detects and works.
But Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, is also light, detects and works.

So what's the difference?

Kaspersky includes a good firewall and it detects nasties more than NOD32. NOD32 often misses things.

And anyone who says "Kaspersky is ubber resource hefty" go away! :p
It uses two processes. One is 1mb big. And the other is 6mb big.

It works seemlessly.

Agreed, don't bother with NOD32, it has rested on its laurels and is not as good as it used to be. It let me down and I changed to avast!.

I agree with the Kaspersky Internet Security Suite, I am testing it the moment and it is very impressive indeed. It also has the reputation as having the best detection rate of them all. The all in suite also has a firewall and antispam as well and is excellent protection. When my avast! license is up in a month or two (I have the pro version) I will be getting Kaspersky Internet Security Suite.

Other alternatives are Bitdefender v10 or Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite, all are very good but don't quite match up to Kaspersky. NOD32 is a good antivirus, just not that good.

Don't waste your time with the nVidia firewall. It was a good idea, executed very badly.

Hi

At the moment I use Kaspersky AV pro and Zonealarm Pro and since owning them (2-3 years) I have had absolutely no virus problems with my PC.

I'm also looking to get a single package and will probably go with Kaspersky as their detection rate seems to always be the best in antivirus reviews.

Cheers
