heres how ive spent my weekend so far, decided to pick up some vinyl wrap off of the bay as i needed to change the colour of my fridge to fit with the new scheme in my room. After some trial and error ive managed to get a nice finish on it and it now fits in well with the rest of the décor.

Pics for the interested, sorry no before shots but most of you will be familiar with the silver artois fridges.

so bitten by the bug i started looking for stuff to wrap :D and then i remembered id been waiting for an xxxl mouse mat that was taking its sweet time coming, after checking the status only to find no stock available i thought it would be a good idea to use the matte vinyl to make a mat.

Heres the results

its pretty nice if i do say so myself, durable, tracking is perfect, water proof and protects the desk against ware. Bonus is ive been wanting a apple mini wireless keyboard as i have no use for the big lump of "gaming" keyboard i have but couldnt stomach the silver, now ive had practice and feel confident i can wrap the little swine in matte black, paired with the white keys will fit in nice with the room!

Comment welcome!

Wish I had this kind of devotion. :(

Epic room is epic, but the lack of monitors is upsetting. :p

lol thanks, wanting a 19" to stand horizontal for web page browsing but apart from that never felt the need for any more monitors, kinda negates the point of a 28"

I have the Hannspree 28", and a 22" LG. I'm after a second hand matching 22" at the moment to go on the other side of it. :P

I typically have about 10 programs open when I'm working though, and it's much easier to have multiple monitors to lay them out on.

It'll only cost around £70 to add a third monitor, and I'm always feeling the need for one when I'm working.

If I didn't use this setup for work though, I'd just have the one. :)

im wanting one orientated length ways vertically does the width of that overshoot the height of the Hanns by much?

Just measured, Hannspree is 395mm tall (viewing area), the 22" is 474mm wide (so tall in portrait), and the 17" I've got on here too atm is 366mm.

The average of the 22" and the 17" is 420mm, so I'm guessing a 19" would be about the closest, if a little over.

I've seen a few 18.5"s, I'd try for one of those, would be the closest IMO. :)

That looks epic mate :)

Looks like a really sweet way to have a mouse mat. Did you say it was matte vinyl material yes? Is it made by 3M by any chance? I think I have the same desk as you, but a different colour. Does it also peel off the desk easily?

i had a desk form Ikea before this one, was slightly cheaper quality and im unsure if the sticky would have pulled the paint off as it used to scratch very easy but on this desk it pulls off without bother, my top is the vika amon.
I didn't shell out the extra for the 3M gear, i looked at the vinyl and it came with a 7 year outdoor guarantee, i figured away from the elements and amplified temperatures compared to indoors it would do perfectly fine.
and yep matte vinyl, cost me £31, i got enough to be able to do the fridge twice if needed and the mat as well which is 400mmx950mm plus have some let over still and you get a squeegee for application too which was a bonus!

I was not familiar with the fridge, do I need to get out more? Visit currys more often?

No, guess it just means your not in the implied 'most of you' section of forum frequenters :D
