We’re happy to announce our partnership with tech giant AMD and the launch of the AMD Gaming Evolved App Powered by Raptr, now in beta!

PC gaming is the pinnacle of high-fidelity gaming, with amazing technology and performance -- but it’s not always easy. Users have to do the optimizing themselves, which can lead to bad gaming experiences.

But the AMD Gaming Evolved App Powered by Raptr doesn’t just have an impressively long title -- it’s designed to make PC gaming systems as easy to use as consoles. With the app, AMD users will get the most out of their gaming experiences thanks to customized optimal game settings for their rigs. With a single click in the app's Control Center, gamers will be able to optimize their games based on performance, quality, or a balance of both for their AMD hardware. Optimal game settings are determined using system and game data captured from millions of PCs stored in Raptr's Cloud combined with extensive testing of various combinations of GPUs, CPUs, and resolutions.

The AMD Gaming Evolved App also includes the features current Raptr members already enjoy -- access to Raptr Rewards, our in-game tools such as broadcasting live video via Twitch, taking/editing screenshots, web browsing, and chat.

You can download the beta now! If you currently run the Raptr Desktop App, installing the AMD Gaming Evolved App beta will replace it. Don’t worry -- you won’t lose any features!

AMD is announcing today that they’re starting up a rewards program for users of their Gaming Evolved Application. The rewards program, dubbed AMD Rewards (not to be confused with Radeon Rewards) is a point based system that will see AMD rewarding users for using the Gaming Evolved application. The points in turn will be redeemable for a number of items, including games and some 3rd party hardware items, but most notably Sapphire Radeon R9 cards. All told, AMD is apparently putting up $5 million USD in merchandise, which would be a significant expense for a single promotion.

What makes this notable is the actions that will earn points in the program. AMD’s press release doesn’t have a complete list, but using the GEA game optimization service and playing supported games are specifically mentioned as activities that earn points. As we covered back in November when the GEA launched, the ad-hoc nature of data collection being used by Raptr and AMD meant that the service started with a very limited data set for optimization recommendations, due to a lack of data to bootstrap the service. Without a dedicated group to provide at least the initial data, the service would be slow to ramp up as AMD needs users playing games and running the GEA first, and only then would they be able to generate recommendations.

This latest promotion looks to be an effort at finally solving the data problem by providing an additional incentive for Radeon owners to use the GEA. If AMD can get enough data collected to make the service widely useful, then it would be able to achieve the critical mass of users needed to make the GEA game optimization service self-sustaining. We'll have to continue to keep an eye on the service and see what this does for AMD's data set. The idea behind the optimization service is very cool, so hopefully this promotion can give AMD the additional data the service needs to really shine.

AMD Gaming Evolved app adds rewards, all you have to do is play

AMD's latest incentive program is being interwoven into its existing app, which promises to reward PC gamers for some of the tasks they likely already perform when playing games.
The AMD Gaming Evolved app doles out points and eventually prizes for using AMD Radeon and AMD APU-based hardware and completing actions like optimizing the image quality of a game and playing a game identified by the client.

The most notable AMD Rewards include Sapphire Radeon R9 Series GPUs, Astro gaming headsets, GameFly subscriptions, Gunnar gaming eyewear and of course free games.
In total, the company says that the AMD-exclusive store has more than $5 million (about £3m, AU$5.5m) worth of merchandise on hand.
AMD isn't a stranger to offering incentives for using its hardware over its chief rival, Nvidia. The company has been running bundle programs that offer free games with graphics card purchases for several years.

i installed it, i think i play too weird games for it tho as it works on whats popular :)
no data for tribes ascend, ragnarok2, hotline miami

blacklight and LoL its suggesting some settings...that i will ignore :p

its not detecting a lot them and isnt letting me add saints row manually
i think it detects games better thru steam? duno

I expect it will take a little while for settings to appear for most games as i think its only a day or two old. As more people download and use it, it will pick up their game settings and more profiles will get added.

Out of 13 games on my list only 4 have recommended community settings so far.

I do like the fact i now see the new gaming evolved logo in my taskbar. Its worth using for that along tbh. :D :o :o :p

i never install my games in default i always put them in c/games then move the ones i got bored of off my ssd to the spinny drive

guess i confuse the hell out of it

it wont let me add total war either *pfff*

Can't blame it. If i was Raptr and you tried to add that game id uninstall myself from your computer. :D
 
haha hm yeh :)

not sure what you mean about privacy mr orange its not like you need put name and address into it, they spy on your gaming habbits tho

i see 3 connections open to it
are you a secret agent or something

I have been running it for a few days now, i don't use the game settings thingy or the live stream, its a novelty, and its beginning to wear off.... looks nice tho, i want the CCC to look like that.

That's how it will end up for me i expect. Still ill allow it to browse my game settings for the benefit of fellow AMD users.
 
Been using Raptr for a while. This is just a skin basically. Works well enough and lets me use multiple messaging accounts which is nice. Better than Xfire anyway.
 
Been using raptr myself for a while, the settings that are recommended arent exactly optimized , and I think its because its still in beta and cant recommend settings for crossfire atm.
I do enjoy being able to load up xbox/steam etc and see whos online where and chat etc. Seems like it does have a bit of potential tbh.
 
I'm using this now as they have regular competitions to win Gaming Evolved titles, which i will sell if i win.
