Hi there guys and girls,

I have done the usual searching through the forums to find my answer, and I did find a couple of threads, but I just wanted to know what to expect when ordering items from the B Grade stock.

I read on some threads that B Grade stuff just comes without all the goodies that usually come with the motherboards when bought from the "components" section of the website.

But does this include all the manuals, and like the Add-on fans for certain mainboards like the Maximus II Formula, and also all the SATA/PATA cables, and all the other goodies, or is there more to it than this?

As I am currently on the market for an Intel Core 2 Quad system, and just today I spotted some Rampage Extreme X48 boards in the clearance section, but I would really like to get most of the goodies that come with the motherboard, like the Q-Connectors, SATA cables, manual etc etc.

So can anybody shine some light on this subject for me please, I am sorry to be a pest, but I couldn't find the information I needed via the search function.

Thanks in advance

Look at B-grade as being the main part only and can contain cosmetic damage.

Basically the more of a discount the more chance of just getting the main part and no cables, fans, manuals, face plates etc etc etc.

But you can get some real bargains in the B Grade section. I bought a Samsung 2443BW 24" the other day for £160, and it came more or less new, with all cables, the good stand and the manual. All that was wrong was the box was a little tatty, according to the RMA note that was still inside the box when I opened it.

Best bargain of this year no doubt.

As said it varies from just the card/board with nothing else eg no cds, cables, leads etc to some very good ones.

I got a £149 psu for £79 which was only missing the kettle lead. :D

I picked up a GTX280 yesterday for £230, it arrived this morning but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet as I'm in work. At that price, I'm worried the actual graphics card is missing ! :)

Sometimes though I think there are pricing errors in the B Grade section. Sometimes the stuff in there are priced the same if not dearer than new ones.

At current there are three OCUK Value 24" monitors in there at three different prices.

Problem is they go into the B grade section at a price cheaper than the original sale value but it never ever gets revised.

Hence they have had an Ultra in there for about 9 months at more money than they sell GTX280 B grade for.

I have seen B grade stuff been dearer than the new stuff on TWO sometimes for the same reason.

You would think they would cut their losses and revise the price at some point just to shift the stuff.

There was a watercooled ultra in there the other day for £230. It's gone now.. so someone must have bought it. Must be nice to just throw money around like that when you could get better for less :)

Yeah I noticed there was an 8800GTX in the B Grade stock, and was quite tempted to buy that instead of a 260GTX because I aleready havean 8800GTX, and I think the lPoint of View 800GTX in the B Grade was only £114 so I wasn't sure if I were to hook up that card to my existing 800 as to whether it would give me just as good perfomance than a single GTX260...

But at the end of the day, I think I will go ahead and grab one of the Rampage Extreme boards, and then get myself and OEM Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 from elsewhere as I notice they are no longer in stock on OCUK....

Thanks for the explanation on B Grade stock guys, I was panicing incase it was goods that had been returned because they were faulty, and that they had to have been repaired, and that was making me think twice about purchasing anything from there,,,

I know this is a bit off topic people, but for a person like me who is just into playing the latest games, a GTX260 with 4GB of fast DDR3 RAM and an Asus Rampage Extreme board would keep me happy for at least a year?

I have always used AMD chips, but to be honest I am sick of them, they just seem to be missing somethinng, and all my friends who run core 2 duo/Quad systems get way more performance than I do on my rig!!
