it's the latest catalyst 8.1 drivers from ati. i posted about it the other day.

it's slightly off white - I'd say towards yellow, but i have a bit of Red-Green and can't be bothered installing something that'll actually tell me. I just zoomed in in paint.

Does anyone actually know why its there? Is it a bug? Anyway of disabling it? When I first saw it I thought I'd been hijacked or summat.

That tortured me so much, when I had my X1950 it showed up everytime I changed my wallpaper. Was wondering why I hadn't seen it with my Nvidia card yet, now I know thanks!

disable the try tools icon and it vanishes

god knows what its for though
