Hiper go b00m, new PSU advice please.

Seems my Hiper Type-R 580w has died so I'm in need of a new PSU for my main rig.

Needs to run whats in sig and cost no more than £80 delivered, any suggestions?

PS: I'm not getting another Hiper!

Looking at funds again and I can stretch to £88 delivered so looks like a choice of:

Seasonic S12 500w
Corsair HX 520w
Tagan U15 580w
Enermax Liberty 500w
OCZ GameXtream 600w

Yet another Hiper gone. It's getting worse.

Either of the Seasonic S12 500w, Corsair HX520w or the OCZ Gamestream 600w will do you. You will be happy with any of them as they are all top class PSU's. Corsair are made by Seasonic and based on the S12/M12 platform anyway. I replaced my ex-Hiper with a Seasonic S12 650w Energy+ and i am chuffed to bits with it. Silent and stable and looks goot too with the black braided cabling.

Always heard good things about the Seasonics, seeing as the Corsair is based on the same internals I think I'll get one of them over the S12 as its cheaper plus according to silentpc its actually better overall than the S12

Hopefully the Corsair wont turn out the same as the Hipers, when I got mine last year everywhere was recommending them too lol

I have the Enermax Liberty 500W and am V Happy with it, it's very quiet and reliable plus its only £70.49 inc VAT.

Modular PSU's are sooooo great!

RMA the damn thing and when it comes back sell it and get a decent psu. I know you will pay extra for the likes of a Seasonic, Corsair or OCZ but it could save you a lot of money in the long run.

Everyone should boycott Hiper. Maybe then they will admit there's a problem and do something about it.
