if you can, then go for it.

There's two questions here -

i) Will I be able to notice a difference using the 4GB rather than the 2 x GB?
ii)Would 4GB be used in upcoming DX10 Games?
iii) Are the top OCZ's good OC'ers?

DOH - Another Credit cad magnet :( Thanks Gibbo

So, has anyone got any experience with OCZ RAM on the "P5WDH-useless-handling-of-SPD-timings" thing ? My Geil Ultra pc6400 4-4-4-12 cannot run in the mobo at manual timings over around 367MHz.....due to the ASUSs poor handling of certain RAM timings......whereas I believe that other RAM (vendors) have done a slightly better job with their SPD tables and thus - even on automatic SPD detection on the motherboard - one should still get the x-x-x-x timings the RAM is capable of......did that make sense

Basically, can anyone advise (coherently !) one whether this RAM would be an upgrade or not really worth the fag and.......

From what i know DX10 games will most probably play smoother with 4gb, plus load times etc will be better. OCZ stuff are good overclockers.

Oh well - Thats my Anni RAM on 'the Bay'.....Good luck to me :)

Gibbo - What's your stock like?! I won't be buying till a week on Thursday - Can you guarantee the prices will stay the same?

RAM prices seem to fluctuate like hell, I wouldn't hang about personally

You recon?! I know they are cheap - but is it good quality stuff?! Has anyone got this and does anyone know of a review - I don't want to buy it 'blind'...

I would like to buy some of the OCZ, but im only going to be able to afford to build the full pc end of this month, but worried that prices could rise again , so thought maybe I could buy the ram now to save just in case, but Im worried that the ram could be faulty when I actually build the pc down the line and then I dont have any warranty or refund to fall back on ?

What do you guys think I do ?

I dont have any machine capable of testing the ram, so would have to wait til i build my rig.

Nice one Gibbo, you are a star. Have been putting off my ram purchase to see if anything pops up, and you go and do this. Have been looking at the Platinum Rev.2 stuff for a while and seems like very good ram for the price (even better now :D ).

A couple of questions though. Would be looking at putting it with either a E6400 or E6600 and clocking 3GHz+, would this ram be suitable. And also how long do you expect the price to be like that, as i may buy another 2GB in the near future?

Cheers

Very tempting indeed. Any ideas when we're gonna get to see 2x 2Gb matched pairs? (I only have 2 RAM slots on my mobo :( )

Hi there

At CAS4 I believe they hit between 900-1000MHz and at CAS5 over 1000MHz should be fairly easy. For the price they are a bargain, the price won't go down any more and memory prices are beginning to show signs of increasing again, though only slight.

I know its not recommended but could i damage my ram by running the £117 2x1GB with my Corsair 2x512MB when the OCZ has timings of 4-4-4-15 and my Corsair ram is 4-4-4-12
