Firstly, I must apologize, I honestly thought it wouldn't happen, but it has!
The DX10 enhancement pack for CoJ is now out for EU/UK versions. :D

HERE

Call of Juarez Enhancement Pack changes the game substantially introducing various changes including gameplay modifications:

- Improved Windows Vista support.

- DirectX 10 version with improved visuals added.

- DirectX 10 benchmark added.

- Re-designed stealth levels for better gameplay.

- Improved animations in cut-scenes.

- Many minor fixes.

Requirements:

This Enhancement Pack can be applied only to full version 1.1.0.0 of the game except for version 1.1.0.0 En/Fr/Es-NA published by Ubisoft in North America.

Notice!

Read carefully readme.txt file and all information displayed during the installation process.

Except for version 1.1.0.0 EN?
What?

Eh??

They are the (English, French, Spanish) North American versions, which already have the DX10 features on, as it came out later in the US. :)

I like threads that start with I Was Wrong. Love a good reckoning.

CoJ any good? from the screenshots it looks like a bit of a rubbish Western. Apologies for my insulting lack of knowledge.

Thanks for the pics....leaves to question though does it look any better than the orginal? Its nearly a year now since I played it so I cant quite rightly remember

Imho, I do think so, for one the massively annoying 'shadowing glitch' that a lot of top end DX9 users had is gone, thankfully.
This message is shown on loading up the game.

Just been giving this a whirl. Seemed a bit stupid that the DX10 patch doesn't include the 1.1.0.0 patch, but there you go.

Graphically the game looks good in both DX9 and DX10 modes, but seems to run approx 50% faster in DX9 mode. I'm in 1680x1050 0xAA, Aniso+trilinear enabled, everything on high except medium textures/foilage, and low shadows. Gonna stick with DX10 mode in any case as apparently it does make a difference in quite a few places, and things like increased view distances are very welcome.

It's also the first game that I've seen cripple my GTS320 - if I set textures to high instead of medium, the framerate plummets from ~45fps to ~12fps. Looks like you need a 512meg (minimum) card to run high textures in this game.

Looking forward to seeing what this has to offer as I progress through the game. I think Techland are a severely underrated in terms of their engines, I was very impressed by the graphical quality of Chrome considering it is a 2003 game (before Cryengine, Doom 3 and Source).
