MAG open beta starts today!

As thread title says MAG is in open beta for a week now. Anyone gonne be playing it, I've played it in previous phases just wondered if anyone else has?

how big is the actual client dl?

edit: ahh 1829.70 mb and downloads are loads slower through the ps3 sigh...

Ive played it quite a bit with the normal ps3 guys - its good fun but for me it wont be a purchase. The main reason being is that even if your squad of 8 or platoon of 32/64 do well, the ultimate goal is based on all the other squads/platoons doing well too.

Its a great idea of being so organised but I dont like the fact that ultimately winning/losing is really out of your control since you only doing 1 objective out of a few...

Also you may see a fair few soliders (normally your platoon) I didnt get the massive feeling of epic warfare (parachute drops are good though) that this game ultimately sells itself on...

BC2 to me is a great middle ground...

release date 29th Jan. So the gamestate will be just about finalised. Looks quite good from the vids ive seen.

At 31% so might be done for 5pm

(5 - 8 slot and then 12-3am slot i think servers are open)

BC2 release is late March i think.

For the person that asked the servers will be up 24/7 until the beta finishes now. I've been really enjoying the game and think that the huge amount of depth in the game is amazing!

is it possible to do offline training to ease you into this? It seemed to be unlocked but it was just description of different types of missions.

Online only AFAIK - just hope you have a useful Squad Leader who assigns Frago targets...

Think ill give this another try to see whats been updated since i last played, what really put me off the 1st time was that, as soon as i hit lvl 40 that was it, i couldnt do anything else, if i wanted to create another character i would have had to delete that lv 40
