Hi all, Im currently thinking about making a htpc. I need a case thats very low and slim (like a bluray player). I havent got much height clearance, so it needs to be a low case. The cases I have looked at in this category do not come with a decent psu (around 150 watts) would that also be enough to power an ati 5450?

Hi after measuring the clearance, I have 11cm to play with for height. That's a nice case but a bit steep in price. Probably looking to spend about £100 in all. Also whats the minimum I would need to run a 5450?

Here are some pics of my ML03 case

Apologies for quality of pics.

I opted for the ML03 as I wanted something a bit slimmer than my SIlverstone GD01. This was the best case I managed to source which fitted my needs.

I decided to use my existing psu as I knew it was quiet. However this had the side effect of not allowing a full size optical drive hence the need for the slim line one. The case recommends a PSU with max length of 140,mm.

There is space for a further 2.5 and 3.5 disk under the optical drive. Another 2.5in drive could fit in the lianli adapter.

All in all I am well pleased with the case given its price tag. It doesnt look like a cheap case and it fulfils all my needs. Its relatively easy to work with in terms of installation.

Eventually the mobo will be replaced with one to allow the USB3 ports to be used as USB3 rather than USB2.

20W typical, 7W idle for the card itself.

Linky

140W idle/170W load for a whole system (i7 based, 6GB DDR3, VelociRaptor HDD) - which I'd imagine is significantly more powerful than your plans for a HTPC. 200W should be safe, you'll probably get away with 150W with lower powered hardware.
