XBox 360 - Connected to Pc Monitor

i recently purchased the xbox 360 and the FF 13 package.

i connected the xbox 360 to my pc monitor. my brain was not in gear. i realised i do not have any speakers built into the monitor, nor do i have a stereo system to output the sound.

is there a way of me connecting speakers to the xbox for sound?

i dont want to complete the game without sound.

Plug them into your line in on your sound card?

How have you got in plugged into the monitor?

I have the offical VGA lead that splits off into the monitor and goes into the sound card.

I take it you have 2 scart-like connectors for sound still? If so:

You need a 3.5mm 2-1 connector like so: http://i43.tinypic.com/2iggepf.jpg

And a 3.5mm coupler: http://i39.tinypic.com/313565x.jpg

OcUK don't sell them but everywhere else that does could be considered a competitor so you'll have to look around, should cost less than £5 together. It's how mine's connected and it's great.

with that you can plug any 3.5mm headphones/speakers into the 360.

scart? I assume you're talking about the RCA connectors which are not scart.

Assuming you have plugged the 360 into the monitor via hdmi, Then you want the 'audio' dongle that plugs in to the normal 360 AV port, this gives you 2 phono (Red/White for Left/Right stereo) connections and 1 optical connection. If you buy any PC speakers, you can connect the 2 phono to the speakers input..

The audio dongle (with another HDMI) are going for £5 upwards on the 'bay..

I've never had any idea what they were called and always associated them with being what you plug into a scart adapter

would USB speakers work, if i connect them directly to the monitor USB port or the Xbox 360 port?

Doubtful. Just do what everybody else has suggest and buy the extra leads needed.

Gold-Plated 2-into-1 PhonoAdaptor
XBOX 360 VGA TFT AV Cable
Metal 3.5mm Mono Coupler

iv got to look for a more perm solution to my xbox audio to be honest, found it a bit of a nuisance that there wasnt just a 3.5mm jack on the xbox or a lead supplied for me to plug my speakers in!
