Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul aims to make Oblivion a much more interesting, challenging, realistic and dangerous place, and also offers great rewards for the daring adventurer regardless of your level.

You must be prepared to cast aside your previous notions about Cyrodiil. The world no longer revolves around you, the player. Do not expect to be able to beat every monster or NPC you meet. Previously familiar areas may now be much more dangerous and you will frequently be forced to retreat from enemies who are too powerful to beat until you are stronger. You will probably die a lot more often now. However, if you have the ingenuity, skill, and luck to survive the odds stacked against you then you will be justly rewarded for your bravery!

Please don't complain about the amount of oblivion threads , i'm only doing this and the other one... Before anyone complains :D

Just re-installed Oblivion and will install this. Do other mods still work along side this and is there is a list of mods included in this so I don't install it again?? Mods like - short grass, darker dungeons, brighter torches, advanced water, BTmod, no psychic guards.

Looks interesting, looking like it might make oblivion interesting as it seems to address my reasons for disliking it.

I have had an odd urge to reinstall Oblivion for about three days now but I've been putting it off constantly. Could this thread have caused some kind of whacky psychic loophole in the space-time continuum, telling me that I should wait for the great mods that seem to have just sprung up?

Also, I've never played with OOO Mod so I might well be in for a treat. :)

Edit: I'm so glad to have a Fileplanet sub. :D

I'm also itching to play it through again just now, and have also never tried OOO. For all it's faults I had an awful lot of fun playing Oblivion. It's expecially awesome in a dark room on a good CRT with a decent black depth and contrast. Makes the dungeons far creepier.

I've been put off trying OOO because most of the mods (not all by any means though) I've seen in the past (across all games) have been a bit amateurish and unbalanced. For example I saw my brother playing one of the most popular stalker mods that put all the hardest enemies and weapons right from the start of the game, that changes the weather randomly every hour, and where once a day there's a plague of zombies that attack. To me that's just tacky. It felt like it has been created by a hyperactive 15 yr old who just wanted constant action and couldn't see the modded game had no cohesion or integrity.

The people who have played OOO - does it feel balanced and refined?

I cant get OOO and MMM to work together. I did what it says and i got yellow things in places and it crashs sometimes.

And yes id never play Oblivion without the 10gb of mods i acumilated over the years lol. OOO is probably the best out, so many new weapons and monsters and quests etc. WIth MMM its ment to be amazxing but i gues i did something wrong.

If you're getting yellow exclamation marks walking around, I believe it's down to misses meshes. Did you download the 430mb OOO 1.3? You need that, not just the 40mb 1.32 Final upgrade on its own.

Same for MMM. If you use just the upgrade you'll be missing textures and meshes. Make sure you got the "full release" of MMM, which is roughly 320mb.

I think the yellow exclimation marks are t o do with other mods which are being conflicted by OOO and MMM, which i dont really understand as they shouldn't be.

But these two mods have caused the game to be very unstable. Its fine if they arnt enabled.

I dont think i can be bothred in sorting it out now. Got other games to play.
