Hey all,

I have recently purchased a new system consisting of a P5Q Pro and 8GB of OCZ 800mhz memory (4x2GB sticks).

Built up my system etc, all is booting. Updated the BIOS to the latest version as I heard about the memory issues then slapped in all 4 sticks and now im dealing with instability.

I have had a tinker with NB voltage and RAM voltage however neither seem to stabalise is considerably, I didnt play too much as I am not the brightest spark when it comes to voltages and the likes.

Is there anyone about that could help me and steer me in the right direction?

Many thanks in advance

My ASUS board and OCZ, work well, as long as I manually set the Ram at it´s stock settings.
Any other tinkering will cause problems.

.

I have an Asus P5KC and 4x1GB sticks of OCZ Reaper and it works fine.
I assume you've set the timings manually and set the vdimm to 2.1v-2.3v?
I did this and have never had a problem.

I have tried the RAM at various different voltages from 1.8-2.2V with no change in stability.

I have just ran Memtest with 4 sticks in and straight away errors have started to occur, into the 200 region within seconds.
I have now taken out two sticks and no errors for the short period of time I ran memtest for.
Would this indicate I have some dodgy RAM?
Currently I Have my RAM set to 5-5-5-15 1.9V as rated on the side of the sticks.

Thanks for the link Stonedofmoo, I have now updated my BIOS to the latest available on that page. When running Memtest I continue to get errors, fewer it would seem but still quite a few.

I have RMA'd my memory and have ordered some Corsair XMS2 as I have had excellent luck with this memory before, im hoping I will pop the Corsair in and it will run perfectly.

Thanks for all your help!
