Well, I got conned into getting water (:P) so naturally had to get my case sorted to house it.

Planned:

Holes drilled in roof for 120.2 rad
Side panel done a-la v1kz
mesh drive bays
Watercooling gear; d5 vario, masterkleer 7/16", uv blue kink coil, clear/uv blue freser 1, Black ice 120.2 rad, 2 clear/blue led yate loons, apogee gtx which I may get a copper top for. xspc bayres)
Fit it!

So I get my case back on monday, unfortunatly the guy didn't get a chance to join the 2 squares, I might have a bash (only 112 holes) Or if I send sidepanel in, send the case.

So some pics:

Might shuffle the drive bays around yet. You don't realise how tempted I am to send it back in summer and have the whole roof done. I think the guy would kill me though.

I really love the mesh covers though :) May have to get another to cover the bayres.

Next up is fitting everything (I've been ghetto for a while now) and then fitting the water cooling, and cutting a side panel.

THis is what I have mocked up for it:

Perspex in top panel and mesh in bottom
Alas I don't have the tools or room to do it (uni) So it may take a while

That's pretty sweet actually, liking the fully perforated look... infact, i wouldn't fill the gap between the 2 squares with holes, i'd leave it as it is!

I'll wait till I see it in the flesh, it is warming to me though (done a mock up in photoshop of it filled in, looks odd with 4 bolts in the middle for the fans :x)

I'll take some pics of it also with all the gubbins monday/tuesday :)

edit screws look not that bad tbf. :)

Those perforated squares at the to p of the case will cause a lot of air resistance, you will not get a lot of air flow and it will be loud. It might look good but i would suggest cutting them away and installing at least a mesh for double rad. If you're after quietness then do not obstruct the fans with anything :)

I might try those mesh drive covers for my case.

was 20quid to get it done. Its hand drilled too :)

In regards to air resistance, the v1k comes with vented fan area at front of the case (below power button) and at the rear, i dont think it'll be a problem :)

It all depends what you are happy with. My main issue is always noise, i want to make them as quiet as possible. I got rid of the grill for the back case fan, none of my fans got any grill as they cause air turbulance and noise. I've gone as far as cutting away the fan frame to make them more quiet :) The lower front case fan is positioned 1 inch away from the perforated case so it gets more air, it's different if the can is stuck on directlu onto the case.

That's just my 2 cents

Liking the holes in the roof for the rad. :)

Does look cool with the holes in the drive bay bezels aswell.

So they aint great, but hey, its a phone camera :P

Leak testing atm (hasnt leaked for 3 hours) and ran prime for 3 hours and temps didnt reach 50.

PAssive rad idle is 43ish which is fun untill I can sort out the fan speeds :)

Will post pics of it in the case fully tomorrow or later.

using ac ryan mesh in the bottom section myself on both sides on my case and it has helps my temps like theres no tomorrow so pleased i did it :p

Think he is going to get it done with holes drilled out on both sides to continue the pattern on the top and front.

Will look awesome :D

Thinking of getting another square done ontop at the back, (for a 120mm fan, my gfx card is chugging out some heat!) and the side panel done in same way.

Happy with it now, just need to mod my psu and it'll be near silent :)

Also just put in an ocz ram cooler, fits rather tight but its in there!

To note, the loop on its own is dead silent, was amazed when we leak tested it with the psu out of the case. Was expecting more noise from the size of the d5 but its totally silent, and a nice whirring woosh on speed 5.
