Just asking which dual core mobile is anyone waiting for:
I know we wil have to wait for specs of the mobiles but has anyone else got any insider information....

Tegra2 (Nvidia).
Orion (Samsung).
Atom (Intel)
Snap dragon (Qualcomm)

You know it's spelt 'dual' right? :p

I'm not waiting for any as I'm quite happy with the iP4, maybe the iP5 will be dual core? If so then I'll be waiting for that next year.

If the specs of the new Samsung are real that has to be the killer phone to have.
Nvidia will be best for gaming if your into that kind of thing all be it Samsung have a dedicated graphics chip.
Nothing leaked about the HTC offering yet as far as I know.

I'd go for the nVidia if it is much better for games. Although I would always go for the HTC I just love the interfaces.

likely the samsung orion, purely because it's likely to be first in the UK (outside of tablets) and because it's single core version is supported by google meaning the community 'should' have better code to play with. Not seen anything official about android and tegra other than it will work..
Orions also got a better gpu than the hummingbird supposedly (same situation on the snapdragons too) so there's it's entirely possible that the tegra will be no faster anyways...

I will be wait and see though...

Couldnt give a toss if its dual core or not, its ridiculous (this hype). I care about a good OS with a decent battery life (which hopefully the dual core will help).

Jaja I'm also with Fox on this. I cant see any need in Dual Core mobiles tbh. They should be working on better battery life.

well considering most of the dual cores are supposed to have improved instruction sets (so faster clock for clock), improved battery life due to die shrink and power management techniques I think we can have our cake and eat it :p

Im very keen on getting a dual core phone, and im following the Lg Star with interest. But battery life is certainly what we need to see more of now.

I don’t give a monkeys about what core it’s got as it’s not a pc/tablet. The dual core is for nerdy bragging rights. I want a decent OS and a much better better battery life.

I've not once had my iPhone slow down on me, so all I want is more battery life.
Couldn't care for another core unless it does improve battery

Why do we need dual core phones?

Can't we have phones with the same power as todays phones but twice the battery life?

Agreed.

Whats the problem with single core? Why can't we have better battery life?

Well the dual cores can be more efficient, more slack and share the workload and newer processes mean less power draw.

It's the way things are moving forwards.

It also means better multimedia such as 1080p recording with no framedrops and beyond among many other things.

Both you guys are correct people feel that because it has two cores it will draw more power and kill battery life....not so im afraid.
