Razer mice - intermittent issues

Hey chaps,

I've had numerous systems over the years (custom builds) with numerous Razer mice and one common issue I've always had is that sometimes the mouse is recognised ok on bootup, sometimes not recognised at all (has to be unplugged then back in again).

Is it just me? - I've used the Razer BlackAdder, Mamba, and now the Ourburous. Been through about 5 different custom builds with most of these mice and they all exhibit the same intermittent issue.

Both the Mamba and the Ourborous have probably been the worst out of the lot for this and I also find Razer mice can often cause problems on low-end systems (i.e. don't work at all).

The Ourborous currently doesn't work with my M-ITX build at all - plug it in, get the sound to say a device has been added followed by it being disconnected.

Time for a change - anyone recommend something other than Razer? - sick of this crap, can't just be me as I've been through most of their mice and completely different systems with the same symptoms.....

ta.

ps - Have the same problem when trying to use them with my work Dell laptops - can't be just me surely?

No you are not alone, I'm exactly the same with my Mamba.

After years of using Logitech I decided to splash the cash and buy a Mamba 2 years ago, it was a very nice mouse to begin with but since the release of Razers new software the mouse has turned to carp.

I can no longer use it as a wireless mouse, the DPI settings are not saved when using wireless and it must be kept plugged in, absolute rubbish.

I have recently purchased a Logitech G502 Proteus Core to replace the Mamba and therefore I will never purchase another Razer gaming peripherals due to this experience. Extreme knee jerk reaction? possibly but that was a lot of money to spend on a mouse that failed after 1 1/2 years of use as a wireless mouse.

Razer are supposed to be like top-end gamers kit, I didn't expect to have this level of issues with most of their products.

Just bought a Gamdias cheapo mouse for the time being to match my gamdias mech keyboard. Only my daughter tends to play PC (minecraft) these days so when/if I go back to PC gaming it will probably be the Logitech G502 I gets. No more Razer for me, they are overpriced carp.

I find with Razer they are all brand packaging with good looks to sell on the shop floor but really are just overpriced and useless for the most part. Had a Razer Imperator that broke and support basically just told me to get stuffed even though it had double click and laser tracking issues.

I had my naga break. The weight inside came off so it would freeze up my mouse whenever it touched something inside. Got a replacement through Amazon that's where I bought it. Was thinking of getting a naga epic but I might look for something else when I come to going further than looking.

Had my fair share of razer issues... never again!

For me i have had driver issues with keyboards and mechanical issues with mice. I can forgive mechanical issues as that can be a freak occurrence but driver issues not getting fixed even though they acknowledge the issue, is poor.

Yeah i definitely won't be going back to Razer again, I remember the mamba mouse - so many firmware updates and they never managed to address the 'jumping' issue.

Glad to report my cheapo Gamdias Hades mouse is doing a far better job than any of the previous razer mice I've had - not once has it stopped working after booting up the PC!.
