1) Can anyone shed some light when these boards will be released for conroe 6600?

2) What is the best motherboard to go for in the £150 range ?

There's lots of talk regarding the Asus P5H DW Deluxe on how it overclocks are these boards being shipped with the updated bios's so they are conroe ready, because I do not have another P4 which I could use to update the bios ?

If you can live with the layout the Abit AW9D-MAX is probably pipping the P5 WH in overclocking & it doesn't have the Asus reboot behaviour but there's nothing between the 2 really.

ditto i have been waiting for the RD600 for what seems like forever. ¬_¬ someone release them pweaseeeeeee

I'd have the Abit in a flash if it had PCI slots (1 or 0 with crossfire is a joke) The Asus is going in members market the second rd600 arrives as it won't clock over 300FSB without doing its (hard drive ruining) pulling the power trick. Having a Jmicron controller is also a great reason not to get a board. :o

Seems unlikely now after the AMD - ATi merger. That's why ATi licensed crossfire for 965 chipset I think. :(

fingers crossed its early not late this month, October is the date spouted all over the internet.

Need this board to finish my build, refuse to give in and buy a 975x :D

I'd still like a decent sli conroe board instead of this cross fire rubbish. Although if nvidia keep bolting together gfx cards it dont matter anymore. Im very happy with my GX2.

When you say crossfire is rubbish do you have any proof of this? Any links or reviews to backup your post?

Looks like an awsome board. Can't wait to see performance.

Hi there

How come your all eager for the RD600?

What advantage does it offer of 965/975 chipsets?

Main One

The memory controller operates asynchronously from the front-side bus, allowing the FSB to be overclocked independently of the memory without being limited by memory dividers.

Nice to futureproof

RD600 motherboards will also support up to three PCI Express x16 slots, two of which can be used for Crossfire whilst the third GPUI can be used as a physics processor.
