Post your awesome screensavers

Just tried Flurry but I can't configure any option on X64 so I just get some nice blurry lines. I want to pump graphics through to my monitor that will make my girlfriend and anyone else who walks past, spaz out in awe.

So far i've gone for the sensible o&o defrag screensaver, hardly graphical brain smarties but does the PC good.

Anyone got any others to try?
 
I use Google Screensaver!.. its a much better looking Photo Slideshow!... Sort of looks like someone sorting through their scrapbook and chucking the images at the screen and they pike up rather than one image after the other with crap transitions!.

Same here (albeit mine's 10 or 15 minutes or something). Only thing screensavers do is stop your PC from idling (by using the CPU and often the graphics card), creating heat and using more power than necessary. Totally pointless.

i remember seeing a really decent one ages ago that had really good graphics and even offered loads of personalisation such as you could put plants in and then watch them grow, put fish food in etc. Wish i could remember the name of it but really can't as it was a long time ago.

Kind of pointless though as thought screensaver was for when you aren't at the screen for like say 15/20 minutes so it doesn't matter what you get as you aint there.

does setting windows to turn of the screen the same as turning it off from the switch at the front?

I think the monitor will go into to powersaving/standby mode when windows cuts off the signal, but this will still use some power. Using the power switch on your monitor will most likely turn it off completely.
 
I just use the Aurora one on Vista, that comes on after 10 mins then 10 mins later my screen gets put on standby.

I don't see the point in them at all really.

Mint_Sauce I think I was using the Euphoria screensaver from that site well over 5 years ago - it's terrific.

Another old but excellent set of screensavers are this set of Mathematically Beautiful Screen Savers. Again, these have been around for ages, and have been updated a lot. Doesn't look that active now.
 
Theyre great if you have kids - especially a fish one as they love to watch it. But, never thought that really they are a bit pointless as you say - just increasing idle tasks. I'll keep mine to turn monitor off after 5 mins or so.
