Sidewinder X6 gaming keyboard

Why wouldn't you use the other thread you made on exactly the same topic? And my advice still stands - it's not mechanical, it's not worth more than £10.

because im looking for people who specifically have experiance with this keyboard because its the one im most interested in atm. and thankyou for your input i appreciate it :)

I had one.

Horrid and it doesn't have anti ghosting like the X4 does.

The removable numpad was bad to as I use the arrow keys and surrounding buttons for games, due to the extra plastic between the arrow keys and the numpad I couldn't stretch my fingers to reach the required key without almost lifting my hand off the arrow keys completely.

And I have big bear paws.

I've owned two X6's

In short: Do not buy

Main reason I got it was because I could remove the numpad
(the further apart my hands are, the more my shoulders hurt. Removing numpad helps a lot)

I liked it apart from 2 fairly serious things...

1: Certain combinations of buttons don't work. I can't recall right now, but it's an issue if you use WASD. I think it was if you held down three keys, two of which involved WASD, it would recognise a 4th keypress

e.g While crouching and moving forward/back left/right (ctrl-a-s) you couldn't reload

Strangely enough, I use ESDF instead, and never once encountered this problem. I had to switch to WASD to see what people were talking about

2: Keys kept dying.
It wasn't long before certain keys stopped responding, or I had to mash them really hard. Seemed to be mainly the number keys. Fairly certain I didn't spill anything on keys etc

Got my first X6 replaced... Same problem happened on second

Side note... If anyone can show me a backlit keyboard that isn't too wide (ie without numpad) I would be greatly appreciative.

Numpad on the left works too. Since the distance between mouse and WASD is still reduced

Hmmm, just had an X6 delivered yesterday....

So far it seams fine but not really had a chance to play much with it yet but I already prefer the key feel over my old cyborg v7 (it was an earlier version of it as I got it a couple of years back).

I got mine one about 2 months ago. It might look the part, but can't say I'm comfortable with using it.

The keys seem too big (wide)...when I play FPS games, while pressing wasd, I find that my little finger struggle to reach/hold down the left-ctrl key which I usually set for crouching...

If I had the option to choose again, I definitely would not go for the Sidewinder X6 again.

I wish I asked for other peoples' opinion like you did when I bought mine lol

I have an X6 and like it. The keys feel better than any keyboard I have used, I wanted the detatchable numberpad as I had a small desk and the integrated rotary volume control was also a big plus for me.
The only think I didn't like was that it was not wireless.
