Parents asked if I wanted a Spa ticket for my birthday :D.

Camping F1 is a good choice. The camp sites at the track are dire. Camping F1 has a bar and hot food and showers and is a good laugh.

Its a short drive from the track. If you are planning on driving to the track rather than using the bus service (I would) then get Red zone car parking as its the closest and easiest to get to from the camp site.

GA tickets for Spa are great. There's only a few areas that are grandstand only, the rest of the track is open with banks for decent viewing. If your doing 3 days spend Friday walking the whole circuit (take good comfortable walking shoes) to get all the views and see where you want to sit. Then on Saturday and Sunday be prepared to have to get in early with your chairs to get a good spot.

Take water proofs, it will rain.

Any other questions let me know. This year will be the 4th time I've been.

Me and the girlfriend went last year with ledger and did the GA (Bronze tickets)

It was ok but you do need to go early as the banks fill up quick.

This year we have gold tickets for the bus stop chicane :D

As another user that went last year wet clothes is a must and sun cream is a must. We went on the straight opposite a screen and saw one of the porche support race accident happened in right front of us. I stayed on the race track camp sites and wasn't too bad. Get out of the tent and your in the race track! Was my 1st F1 race I've been too so got nothing to compare to.

This year going to Silverstone on official campsite.
But next year planning on going to Spa and Monza (hoping a week apart again otherwise lots of visiting sites). Should be a good drive whatever the case.

Check out Elephant camp site, stayed last year was excellent. If you can, get to the track on Thursday for the pit lane walk and stuff, good fun and lashings of Boffinger Belgium lager while you queue :P

Well, all booked up.

Leaving early on the Thursday to return on the Sunday night.

Read some nasty reviews of camping F1. So managed to get booked into a actual camp site

http://www.campingspador.be/en

quite cheap and has entertainment and so on.

Cant wait my first ever gp despite being a life long fan. Just cant dig silverstone and their crazy prices

This cost

£80 for the crossing between two
£70 for the camping between two
£150 for the tickets after all charges x 2

Then its just fuel and spending money / food money.

£400 quid trip I should think

Bad reviews of Camping F1? Where from?

For a temporary site setup in a field I thought it was great.

Did you remember to book car parking at the track? Or are you getting a transfer of some sort?

On the way back from Sunday's 2011 race I picked up about 5 lads who were on their way back to one of the campsites on foot ... a good half an hour walk from the race circuit.

Cant' remember which one it was but they said that the site ran out of water on the Friday night. Both myself and the missus gasped :D

We stayed in a nice converted farm house B&B about half an hour south drive of the circuit. It was a pleasant place to stay though I think we felt a bit isolated. It was a small village in the middle of nowhere.

Having said that I'd read reviews about people staying up till daft hours in the morning blaring away some sort of Euro Dance music at some of the campsites and I really could not be doing with that, I like my sleep!

I absolutely love Spa, the Ardennes forest region is enchanting and the circuit is one of my favourites if not my fav. You can just feel the history when you're near the place.

I think next time I go I'll stay in a B&B again but somewhere a lot nearer the circuit, say 5-10 minutes away. Would probably stay in teh F1 hotel which is right near La Source with any luck actually.

if you google it and read into the reviews it got some terrible ones. plus it was 2 x the price of others.

Camping F1. I was there. The farmer providing the water had 'issues' for about half a day. Was fine other than that. Decent food, hot showers and pre erected tents. Jake Humphrey was the guest on Saturday night too, which was cool.

It was a million times better than the at the track camping I did in 2009 with the vomit filled porta loos and all night chainsaws and metal music.
