Picked up a pair of Ocuk 8600GT cards today.

First the pics :

Rest of the spec in my sig.

3DM01 : 40500
3DM05 : 15023
3DM06 : 7871. SM2 : 3579, SM3 : 3058, CPU : 2441

Doom 3 : 1152x864, high detail, 8xAA, 8xAF - 71.5FPS

Lost Planet DX9 performance test : 1152x864, all high detail, no AA - 26FPS average

Not bad i suppose

I wouldve got the X1900XTX that was in b-grade but i was too late

EDIT: Overclocking results :

Using ntune i increased the clock speeds to 685mhz on the core and 1.62ghz on the memory

This increased the 3DM06 score to

9052 : SM2 - 4243, SM3 - 3678 and CPU 2437

My jaw almost hit the floor

Done some game benchies. Ive used frpas to measure the average framerate.

FEAR Demo - 1152x864 - Everything max except soft shadows - 4xAA 8xAF = 45FPS

Farcry - 1440x900 - Very High - 8xAA 8xAF = 80FPS

Half Life 2 - 1440x900 - Max detail - 6xMSAA 16xAF = 130FPS

Call Of Duty 2 - 1440x900 - Maxxed out DX9 - 4xAF - 45FPS

EDIT : Just ran 3DMark05 @ 1440x900 and scored 11292 compared to the 1024x768 standard score in my sig

EDIT : Upto 9238 now

interesting.

Tried overclocking yet? I doubt you can get very far on the memory as they have no cooling but the core should clock at least a little :)

Well ive no idea what to use to clock them to be honest. Ive installed ATI tool and it presents me with 3 different lots of clockspeeds.

Pity i cant use coolbits so i could do the detect optimal frequencies

rivatuner doesn't work for you? works on my 7900GT in vista 64.

because honestly it looks like that hsf will do a decent job on cooling the core.

Good lord  what a score

Can u post a picture of your face when you got the 3d mark :D

Myself has just ordered , finally the 8800GTS 640 meg to replace the ailing 7900GT

bloody helll that score whoops my x1900xt stupid
thats a very cheapo method to get some performace. good bang for the buck., seeing as how 8600gt's are as low as 60 quid now it provides a good alternative for cheap power.
