Hi

I need to feed wire through the battons of an already plastered wall. I've seen some videos online that explain the procedure but since they are American or Australian they have different terminology so what will I need to do this please?

I think I need:
- Sheet plasterboard (They only come in one size apparently)
- Plaster finish?
- Some kind of glue
- Thin wood piece
- Some kind of tape
- Sand paper and applicator

These are the videos I'm taking guidance from

If you don't smash through the board like the pretty lady does then you can re-use the piece you remove.

This is how I do it -

Find centre of batons by poking through the board with a bradawl or similar
Using a 80mm-100mm holesaw drill out a circle centred on the baton
Run cables
Replace circular piece and screw on to baton
Fill edges of circle and bradaw lholes with any plaster filler, sand down and paint

You will only need these or similar -

By far the easiest option.

Thanks, fed the ethernet cable through the wall and have left the support on the plasterboard to dry overnight. I will put the plasterboard I cut out over it tomorrow and finish it of with some plasterboard tape and finishing compound.
