Free recovery software for digi cameras?

Parents have gone and formatted there camera and lost all there photos. Of course no back up and I have to go and sort it out

So what's some decent recovery software? is GetDataBack still good?

testdisk (same people as photorec)
recuva

all freeware, used them to get pics back in the past

any other ideas, only recuva can pick up usb storage, but some reason won't even scan it.

PC File Inspector will do it, there is also a one for camera

GetDataback scanned it but didn't find anything, Now trying Pc file inspector. it's not looking good.

nope, just the 2 hdd and the 2 cd drives.
