Coming home from down South and got around Birmingham on the M6 when we got into a 50mph zone.
Mrs Dimple was in the middle lane doing bang on 50 when a lorry was trying to get up the inside of us and without warning pulled out and banged into the side of the car
There was lots of screaming from the passengers but Mrs Dimple held her nerve and regained control of a car that I honestly thought was going to be serious.
We then tried to follow the lorry with a CZ plate and it was obvious it wasn't going to stop so I rang 999 and basically gave them a running commentary of where we were etc but meanwhile Mrs Dimple was in shock and couldn't really keep up with the lorry that overtook us and tried to get away.
Luck was on our side because a major accident had occurred and we came to a dead stop where he had to get out and talk to us.
It just so happened we were right at the beginning of the slip road to the M54 and he decided to get back in his cab and pull down the slip road so we followed while ringing the Police and giving them a full commentary.
Eventually the Police arrived and pulled 'Stefan' over and he handed over all his documentation which the Police said looked very genuine so don't know why he didn't stop.
I took photos of it all and meanwhile CCTV had reported back about the incident and said my wifes driving was amazing and she avoided what could have been a very serious pileup.
Anyway, just a wait now.

The black mark is a blotted out car plate.

This is the lorry when it tried to get away from us.

Just heard the accident that stopped us is between J10 & J11 and to still avoid.

The lorry caught up with you and was passing you on the inside, then hit you in the process of moving into the middle lane?

Was the lorry LHD? Remember Scania saying they have a massive blind spot there if LHD.

Glad you're all ok!

Why however were you stuck in the middle lane? That's what I don't get.

Why not?
We're in a 50 mph zone where all 3 lanes are doing 50 and we are stuck there.
Mrs Dimple had just overtaken the lorry but he decided to undertake her and come over.
She did nothing wrong and the Police (or CCTV operators) saw it on CCTV apparently and reported back she hadn't done anything wrong.

Same thing happened to Mrs Maccapacca, she was continuing on the M25 anticlockwise junction 5 where the M20 goes off to Dover and the Polish lorry driver in the inside lane at the last moment dived over his lane and hers and pushed her into the middle lane, at least that what she says albeit she has a habit of not knowing where other vehicles blind spots are, went 50/50 in the end just because the other company just responded every time with her fault.

Mrs was pretty shook up the wheel nuts of the lorry tore lumps out of her Civic.

No he didn't.
When he overtook us he knew and when he was stopped by the Police he knew and became apologetic.

What an utter ****. So he has no ideas what injuries he's caused or what damage to your car and just drives off? Sad fact is because he's a foreign driver he'll probably get off lightly.

I've just finished an emergency services driving refresher course on a new vehicle we have started using and during the course, we were given input into 'side swipe' situations which are becoming more and more common these days. The simple addition of an adhesive fresnel lens can greatly reduce these incidents, take a quick look at this VOSA video clip, could this have been a possible cause of your collision?.

I was expecting more damage in the pictures going off the text. I think it was a light slap exaggerated by driver movements and passenger screams.
