Third Build - Parents :)

right then, my mum;s old dell laptop was starting to die so i thought i;d build her a rig before i left for the next semester of uni

this was going to be a SUPER budget build

i decided upon:

- i3 2100
- 4gb ocz platinum
- MSI H61
- 1TB WD Blue OS drive
- old sata dvd drive laying about
- usb wireless-n adapter
- cheap matx case + psu

i got delivery this morning at 1pm

this case is the cheapest, flimiest piece of rubbish i have ever laid my hands on, but what do you expect for a case with a 500W PSU for £17.99!!!

i took off these stupid fans and fitted some nicer ones

as you can see here

the MSI H61 on first opening

fitted with the ram from the EPIC DEALS day

(£23.99!!!!)

mounted in the case - the intel stock cooler is RUBBISH

the system has no graphics card as the most graphical intense thing my parents do is use skype

the first thing on my agenda is to replace the case and psu, then the cooler - the machine idles at ~40 degrees and when watching a 1080p youtube video it went to 60 degrees...

anyway, ill post up a final picture when everything is sorted out and looking nice

LOL nice, that must be the emptiest functional build on this board. Too used to seeing multiple giant gpus.

Atleast cable management won't take long!

My parents sometimes get my cast offs, Dad's got my old Q6600 at the moment.

How long did it take you to build that up? about 20mins from unboxing to windows boot

?

hehe - it took about an hour and a half to build and boot

UPDATE:

ive opened her up:
1) added an edimax wireless n pci-e adapter
2) changed the fan to a lower decibel one
3) added a card reader from an old case i threw away
