It's here at last!

All 44.73 miles of it is now available to drive in GPL. And to think a lot of people have trouble getting around the 14 mile Nürburgring Nordschleife....

You'll need to go here to make sure your GPL install has everything required to run it (Long Track Patch has been brought to all the seasons now IIRC). And pack a thermos, it takes a fair old while to get all the way around this place!

Wow I have not played GPL for years now.. Used to enjoy the late friday night drunken online and sat evening league races.

Think I will have to dig out me force feedback wheel :)

iRacing tbh :p

Ok, not quite the same, lacking and unlikely to get things like the proper Spa, Silverstone, Mexico and even the Nurburgring due to them only releasing laser scanned tracks and those being impossible or prohibitively expensive.

However the Physics/Feel of the game is like an extension of GPL, and so far as a historic car we've got the Lotus 79 which is fantastic, with the possibility of older F1 cars being there sometime in the future...

Back on topic, I've not been able to get a decent working GPL install for a couple of years now, one thing or another has been messed up. But gonna have to try again at the weekend for this :)

Thats crazy! There was a place on NFSS That was 44k or was it 23k, it begins with F, definately a German track?

Tried selling gpl on ebay no booger would take it. :( Even tried here on mm stil no takers. :(

Yet seems in demand on these forums. I dont get it lol.

Do the bandits take pot shots at you?

I'd be willing to bet that if local bandits really needed to be implemented for historical accuracy, the GPL mod teams would be feverishly working on the coding required :D

Hi Skill,

Silverstone is on iRacing as a add on track, and it's brilliant flying around there in a Lotus 79.

Taff

Aye, it's great fun, but it's not the proper Silverstone that I love from GPL :p

1952-1973 version (aka GPL) = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Silverstone_1952.jpg

Today/Version in iRacing = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Silverstone_2000.jpg

Copse and Stowe are vaquely similar, the rest...

Maybe it's just fond memories of thousands of laps round there in the Ferrari :p

I learnt Silverstone playing REVS on my BBC Micro!

It's going to me forever to get a clean lap of Targa.
I'm still trying to get a clean lap of the ring. It's the only way I'll beat Lopez at GPL Rank.

Brand new legitimate copies are available for <£5 delivered. That probably explains why you couldn't sell yours. :p
