Im thinking of getting a Titan and yes i know there expensive and i know AMD are better value for money but i have looked into it heavily and the titan is a lot better card simple as that. Just wish the Software deal could be better that there offering with it thats all but nevermind cant have everything.

SO anyway my Question, which Titan is best. I cant seem to find much about comparing them with each other. I know there all very similar, but one must be better overall. From what i can tell the EVGA seems to be the better one and has a better Support system in place to, so im tempted by that alone, but does anyone know how much difference there is between them all.

The only thing i did wonder is if i would be better waiting for the next NVidia Gen the "Maxwell" next year and picking up something to last till then, but i'll probably get the Titan lol

But im not going the AMD way, really havnt been happy with them at all, had both NVidia are a lot better.
 
I think hardware wise pretty much all Titan are the same...so yes it would make more sense to go with a manufacturer that provide the best support and RMA service. If I was to get one, I would go with EVGA as well.

Yea but EVGA's warranty cover the removal of the stock cooler/heatsink, and the other manufacturers don't. I guess it's depending on if the individual think if he would ever replace the stock cooler with a 3rd party cooler or waterblock.

If you don't damage the card who is to know?

Also if you damage the card during the block/cooler installation,

you void the warranty anyway.

Unless you got the exact identical thermal paste as the ones manufacturer uses, they can spot the cooler has been removed easy enough (assuming that they do check it).

Also if they want, they could just put a sticker seal on the card or something...

You have to remember this is a £800+ card we are talking about here...it would be quite risky to just assume the manufacturer wouldn't put in more effort into checking it than our usual £100-£300 price range cards...

Wrong. Gigabyte also cover if you remove the heatsink for a water block. So long as you return the card as you received it from the factory they don't care.

I've wc'ed my 670 it's a breeze getting the stock cooler off just take it slow. You don't want to cause physical damage by accident. Then your warranty is definitely void. But to the OP any of the titans are fine it's your choice EVGA/Gigabyte would definately be at the top of the list.
 
With EVGA you can extend the warranty to 5 or 10 yrs for a small fee plus customer support is the best out there.

If you read my post more closely, I was referring to other manufacturers in general. EVGA got great support, and even got a rep that frequent OcUK's forum to help with resolving issues relating to their product.

I got nothing against Gigabyte...in fact, they are usually what I would prefer since I myself live in Milton Keynes. But after reading the problem how they handle one of the forum member's GTX480 SOC RMA, insisting offering nothing more than a lower spec GTX570 as a replacement, one would have to wonder how they would handle it, if one was to RMA a Titan and Gigabyte no longer have any stock for replacement. I mean taking that above case, MSI or EVGA most likely would have replaced the GTX480 SOC with a GTX580 no question asked, not offering a "downgrade" replacement. Have already seen members RMA their MSI GTX480 and got GTX580 as replacement, and EVGA GTX460 replaced by GTX560, and the lists goes on...but can't remember all of them.

I emailed Gigabyte about adding waterblocks to my Titans and what their stance was on this. The response was a firm "No". They said if you remove any part of the GPU, you will void your warranty.

I know it would be hard to prove I did this but I would rather go with someone like EVGA who are happy for you to pop waterblocks on.

Yeah I read what you said just saying Gigabyte are pretty much like EVGA now. :p If I need support OCUk = sort everything for me. So whys it matter what the actual card is?

Really? Hm. I'm pretty sure when I was considering what card to buy I was informed that Gigabyte don't mind so long as it's factory state when returned. Titans are a different matter however compared to a 670 obviously.

Too true... we can all thank AMD for that little price to performance on Nvidia cards. But titan's have cuda and cuda is just worth so much for those that render etc.

It's not absolute tosh if that's his experience... Why does anyone who's had a negative experience with AMD get lambasted on these forums? :rolleyes: :p
