Ok, I have 2x6950 (flashed to 6970 and running @ 935/1450) and I have been running some tests as I am planning to put one card in the top slot (16x) and the other in the third slot (8x) ... seperated by a double slot on my mobo. I ran Heaven as it seems to be a decent benchmark (and I don't have too much time to spend on this tonight). I ran it 3 times @ 2560x1600 default settings and recorded the best score .. is this representative of general peformance I wonder?

Single card X16 = 38.8 977 25.7 81.4
Dual cards X16, X08 = 75.2 1894 45.3 161.2
Dual cards X16, X16 = 77.2 1944 46.9 164.3


I am happy to have them in x16 & x8 - will help keep the noise down a bit!

I wouldnt worry about losing 2fps if it means they will run cooler

The difference in performance is always < 3%.

There should be even less difference in real games compared to a benchmark. It won't be noticeable.

That really is impressive scaling from those cards!
