Quite possibly the happiest day of my life. (Pics Added)

This morning I trudged miles trying to find the local depot where my Epiphone Elitist EB3 was sitting waiting collection. So after trudging through fields and streets and god knows, I finally found em. The guy behind the counter was like.. uuh that might be a hard parcel to find, but I think he got the message after I must have looked at him like I was about to kill him. He got his arse back there and find it... he did.

Its come all the way from the states to England, and its in one piece.. infact its better than that its pristine, compete with case.

It sounds amazing and I cant decide between pos 1 tone 0 or pos 3 tone 0, both are nice. I will need some TI flats, on there as soon as i can afford them. The only slight thing is the e string doesnt sound as loud as the others? and seems a little tricky to get in tune. But thats ok.

To round off a great day, I also got a call from my local store and my Gibson SG RI is ready to be picked up. This i will do Monday as i have to go to work. I wish I didnt so I could just play all day and drink beer.. oh yes.

Overall the cost of the epi elitst was £536 thats good in my books for such a quality instrument. They charged me £82 tax dutys etc.

I'll get some pics up when I have both guitars.

Cheers

Jim.

Congrats! There's nothing quite like a new guitar, opening the case for the first time is indiscribeable! :D

I've just finally paid for my custom guitar which should be here in 1-2 weeks, so I know how you feel :)

Aye, congratulations! Glad it's all worked out - especially with something as precarious as a set-neck bass :)

The slight E-string issue is probably just that - the string itself.

TI Flats, eh? Thumpy thumpy thumpy :D

Epi Elitists are the best quality models they produce (even the customs). Most of them rival Gibson quality so for just over £500 it is a great buy. Can't wait for pics. :)

Thank you all.

Truly is an awesome guitar. It even says Gibson on the truss rod cover, so you know its quality. I'll post some pics soon but meanwhile here are a few of my actual guitar, taken by the guy who sold me it.

I have just played this lovely guitar to a good extent, this evening and crikey.. I really mean that... words cant describe. Awesome sound, its so well... awesome.

Stunning on pos 1 and 2... tremendous, I highly recommend these Elitist's.

Lol, 2 strings? not at the mo thanks.

Just picked up my Gibson SG RI bass this morning... it is also amazing. I'll post pics soon of both.

Try adjusting the E's pole pieces to make them closer to the string if they're adjustable.
It's more likely that it's just a duff string; the tuning instability on the E helps suggest this may be the case.

I didn't actually get round to saying this in my original post: even though it's not a bass I'd choose to own, that EB3 oozes cool :)

Thanks yeah you wanna see them strapped on, uber coolness.

I think I will wait until I get some new strings then if its still a little quiet I will try adjusting the poles.

The pole pieces are these things in the centre yeah?

Sweet guitars eh? they both look more or less the same but sound vastly different. The Epiphone Elitist has a lot of that sixties bruce/fraser type groove going on and the Gibson is more growly deep bass, versatility.
