That should read something like 'no signal' in a small retangular box. Just wondering two things - if i need to make a real effort to find the receipt before phoning Samsung tomorrow (monitor is well within warranty - date on back is May 06). And secondly, what i can expect with their warranty service.

(glad i kept hold of my old Sony 19" 400PS CRT)

well, just incase any of you 41 (:)) are interested, the monitor will be swapped out in 5-7 working business days. I just hope i dont get one with dead/stuck pixels, as mine was previously perfect :(. No receipt needed.
 
That is quite good. I often forget how good the warranty for monitors is. I also hope this never happens too!!! :)

Anyway, you might even get an upgraded model.
