Blu Ray Question

Why are my blu ray films so grainy ?

Any settings on my T.V or blu ray settings i can change to adjust the grainy of the films

Maybe reduce the sharpness control on your TV or BD player ?

Part of the answer is that Blu-rays are better at showing what was actually recorded on to film. However, a lot of the answer is that most TVs have the default setting for sharpness that are too high. You'll also find there are settings for "picture enhancements" that actually make things like film grain look worse.


If you can see halo edges on fine detail then the sharpness of the TV is probably too high.

I put my Samsung on Cinema mode, really improved it

make sure your using HDMI leads and check your settings for 1080p on blu ray player AND TV
