I thought it might be an idea if people listed any widgets, sidebar, cool apps or any cool hack that they use/found in windows 7.

Basically I wanna know because I have none :p

yeah sorry you need coretemp running for it to work

also got another cool gadget i'm running, it's called xirrus wi-fi monitor and you can get it here, it's great for laptop use and looks cool

check the reviews, as some people (me included) have problems with it not working properly but once you get it working for the first time it works perfectly

and for all you gooners out there give this a try

i got a freebie monitor that i mounted and used it to install some gadgets (the gadgets monitor :p)

was going to mount it in the case side panel but it looked like too much work and i dont think theres enough spacing :o

some of them:

logitech widgets
gpu monitor widget
cpu meter
network meter
top process
drive info
volume gadget
weather bug widget
date
time
cpu-z
core temp

gpu monitor is really good and quite detailed showing stuff like voltage, amps, fan speed and temps etc.. uses rivatuner

you can use other rivatuner plugins too

DUDE, i've wanted to do somthing like that for ages, i was thinking about using something like a 12" laptop screen and making a frame out of ali or something , unfortunatly my moding skill are a little lacking :( but i really love the idea

i do have one question though, well 2 :D first do you game on this pc with this running and secondly how much of a difference does it make to fps

my main interest other than i think it looks cool (big kid/geek :D ) is to monitor temps and usage when gaming.......... and it looks cool :D

EDIT: another quick question for all :D my motherboard has onboard graphics (it's a sort of hybrd sli that causes crashe's when enabled in hybred mode but sits there fine without it turned on)
will running it off that work with my sli set-up and if it will will there be an impact on proformance, i don't have a monitor to try at the mo but will get one if it will work with little impact even if this means i have to get more ram to make up what the onboard will use not that most games use the whole 4Gb

sorry i hope all this make's sence i've been on the beers :D and i'm a little merry

was toying with the idea for a while but was worried it may affect performance but i was told it doesnt and ive not noticed much if anything to be honest, i was under the impression it does not use any 3d aspects of the gpu, just using one of the ramdacs? im not sure

gpu usuage is showing between 0-1% on desktop, cpu usage is similar around 0-2%, not really played many games on the pc recently but will do when i have some time, ive only set it up recently but yeah i have it always on even when im playing the odd game or 2

thats what i use it for and it looks cool displaying all the info without having to alt tab etc..

it was either this or running a boring vfd in the case which has been done to death, thought id be different :p

in the lian li pc70 theres no wideness to the case so it wouldnt fit in the side panel unless i was to be creative, then ontop of that there was also the issue of the extra heat added to the pc and the extra cables, 3rdly the case is for now front facing so i wouldnt be able to see anything. :p

Maybe i would have done it if i still had my mozart

that's awesome, i've already started looking for a nice smallish monitor for the job :D i've got my eye on a nice 2nd hand 15" dell with dvi and vga so could use it for my media center when i get it up and running :)

yeah and they look so old hat these days, a monitor full of gadgets it defiantly the way forward :D

yep you'll sure have enough room in that baby, almost enough room for a crt lol
i like the idea of the pop out screen above, i bought a thermaltake lanbox with a view to getting one but the price put me off but does look cool

the main reason i asked about using the onboard to run this is because at the mo my gaming rig is also my media center so have monitor and tv taking the 2 dvi sockets and i don't think i can use the other card with sli enabled

if it would be better to ask in the graphics forum i will do i just didn't want to make a new thread if it wasn't needed :)
